I don't particularly want Higuain, though he has scored for fun in Italy, but have to say calling him a merc seems harsh. He's 28 and only played for 3 clubs in his life. Spent 6 years at Real before they decided they want him anymore and got rid, and he's had 3 great seasons in Italy.

Yeah, Higuain isn't as good as the hype but he certainly isn't a mercenary.

I would rather have Zlatan help out Martial and Rashford for 2 seasons. Those two have earned their shot. If we fuck them around by signing Higuain on big wages we will ruin them.

Felipe Anderson in and Mata out would make an awful lot of sense.
Higuian less so when Zlatan is available on a free and wouldn't expect to play every game.

Don't worry, we'll be linked with Gaitan soon enough!

Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas says Jose Mourinho failed at Stamford Bridge this season because he put "too much trust" in his squad.
Mourinho, 53, was sacked in December, with the club one point above the relegation zone, seven months after he led them to the Premier League title.
Fabregas, 28, says the players "let him down" after being given extra holiday as reward for winning the league.
"I have huge respect for him," the Spain international told Sky Sports.
"The biggest problem was he trusted us too much, gave us more holiday because we were champions and we let him down. That was the main reason he had to go - and for that, myself and the team feel bad."

Clearly, Cesc wants to sign for us in the summer.

Borussia Dortmund and Germany World Cup-winning defender Mats Hummels says he is losing sleep over his future. Hummels, 27, still has another season left on his contract but has been linked with several clubs. Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Manchester United and Liverpool are all reportedly interested.
"It's been taking me at least half an hour extra to fall asleep for several weeks now because this is such a big issue for me," said Hummels.www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36104368

Hummels could be a pretty astute signing, given he only has a year left on his contract.
Many don't rate him anymore, but he's still a fantastic player and could be a brilliant asset at his peak next to Smalling - World Cup winner too, obviously.
Most CBs only reach their peak nearing 30 so the best could still be to come - also, before everyone starts with the "he's too slow for the Premier League" stuff - it's really not that necessary.

I mentioned him the other week and I still think he'd be a very good signing. He admitted himself he was out of shape last season but this season he seems to be back to his old self. His distribution is fantastic and if we don't want to get into a ridiculous bidding war for Stones (which we no doubt will), he'd be a great fall back option (and currently a superior player). Just to add to the above, Hummels is 28 this year and with that in mind, we have 2 fantastic prospects coming through in Tuanzebe and Ro-Shaun Williams, so an older, more experienced player may make more sense.
