Will he ever be held accountable for his role in the club’s demise? No.

“Because he is buying the much bigger house right across the street with his big, fat, yearly bonus from the Glazers.”

Snippets from an excellent Oliver Kay article in The Athletic today:
"If we are talking about resilience, then United’s has been tested to a degree that few other clubs in world football could have withstood. The common counter-argument here is that they have continued to spend money in the transfer market under the Glazers — just over £1 billion of it (much of it terribly) since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013 and Woodward replaced him as the most influential figure at the club. But it is an argument that misses the point. Every pound United have spent is a pound United have generated. So too is every pound among the £1.5 billion that has been used to prop up the Glazers’ ownership."
"Since football resumed in June, United have played six home matches and missed out on two more (against FC Copenhagen and Sevilla in the Europa League). The loss of match-day revenue from those eight matches is estimated at upwards of £35 million. That is a considerable dent in any business plan, but next to the cost of the Glazers’ ownership, year after year after year, it is a drop in the ocean."
"It certainly feels a long time since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer warmed to the suggestion that United, as “one of the biggest clubs, financially well off”, might be in a position to “exploit” a difficult climate in the transfer market this summer. Perhaps the £40 million deal to take Van de Beek from Ajax could be put in that category, but otherwise it has looked as if Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and even Everton and Tottenham Hotspur have been better placed to “exploit” the market."
"It is one thing to cite a surplus of defenders to explain the difficulty of signing a new one, but Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Marcos Rojo all signed new long-term contracts, to varying degrees of bewilderment, between March 2018 and February 2019. Jones played 135 minutes of Premier League football last season. He is 19 months into a four-and-a-half-year deal. And how on earth have United ended up in a position where they have three high-class goalkeepers (David de Gea, Sergio Romero and Dean Henderson) competing for one place but so little strength in depth in so many other positions?"

They will when sponsorship starts falling like it is. No chance were Getting a deal like last time from Chevrolet or Adidas because we’re not competing at the top. Tv audiences will be falling as we’re not entertaining or interesting. Shit is starting to hit the fan for them and long may it continue. It will have to get worse for it to get better

There's been nothing leaked for a very very long time ref who replaces Chevvy,Haier seemed to be the initial briefs, but those have gone quiet. No way anyone will match Chevys £75 mill a season, going to leave a huge hole in their business plan

I think they do to some extent. Both Bruno and Mata were signed in January after dire seasons. All the DOF talk after shit results. Then all the numerous briefings.

A huge health and safety breach due to their lack of investment in the stadium. One that runs into millions and millions of pounds. A sex scandal involving a few of the main Glazer gimps. Something that you can’t brush off and harms the brand. An Epstein or Saville level of shame. Or the benefits are outweighed by the negatives. No crowds, big financial hits and a continuation of shit season after shit season.

I'm really thinking about what it's going to take to get the gimps out... We know that they will do the bare minimum when the shit hits the fan but that isn't going to help us get back to where we should be... Covid could be thing that sees them gone, playing home games behind closed doors is costing them £4 -5 mill per game,it will now be March/April before there is any hope of crowd trials begining, common sense would suggest this season will be played entirely behind closed doors. Chevy deal finsihes in June 2021,it's likely that they will not find anyone to get even close to that £75 mill per season. The premier leagues biggest overseas broadcast deal in China has collapsed, best current offer is £10 mill,it was £550 mill ,this will reduce premier league prize money. Other current commercial deals will surely be impacted through Covid. Signing significant new commercial deals through Covid will almost certainly not happen, everyone is uncertain in the business world & looking at costs, unless Woodward can secure an official face mask partner that is,things look bleak on this front. Will we finish top 4 with the squad & manager probably not, that impacts the Adidas deal. Whist we have Champions League revenue, group stage or round of 32 elimination = less £££ than reaching the semis of last season Europa. If you look at the accounts in a perfect scenario, although we can't spend the kind of money we should be able to with our income, debts levels are serviceable & we should reasonably competitive, look at the accounts now & they look very unservicable, unless we reduce wage costs & transfer spend significantly. Back in May we drew down £140 mill from the OD facility to cover day to day operational costs, they must be on the cusp of needing to do again, whilst this won't impact the nett debt,it will increase the clubs outstanding liabilities. The adverse social media is hurting the club, that's why the are bleating about it ,Woodward knew this was coming, that's why he hired a new head of global social media this summer, prior to even worrying about signing any players.
