I'm new to this but have been lurking on ROM for 2-3 years and before that Red Issue and MEN (before Facebook). On the blog, don't always agree but read posts by most including trevor (hendrix?), gra mar (anyone who can namecheck Bob Mould is already on a righteous path), Dan Young, Mirian, Wayne / Holy (before his latest banning) and others too many to mention.
In case I get this wrong (and I'll probably post to the wrong bit of the forum anyways), I looked at how I should introduce myself, according to the mod (sounds a bit formal, but hey ho)
How long have you been a red?
Since 1978. Not from Manchester, but my best mate was a United fan, so that was it for me.
Not been to that many games down the years:
1st: 08/11/1983 Milk Cup Second Round, Colchester United 0 - MUFC 2
2nd: 02/11/1994 European Cup, Barcelona 4 - MUFC 0
3rd: 22/01/1995 EPL, MUFC 1 - 0 Blackburn 0
And a few others afterwards, obviously, but none recently and in reference to the above Google was my friend re dates.
Who's your favourite player in the current squad?
Without doubt, either Martial or DDG. Beyond that got a soft spot for Blind, but he'll never be a centre half all the time I've got an asshole and even when he's playing LB, he gets exposed because he's got no pace. LVG only plays him centre-half because we've got no one else at the mo (whose fault is that?) and DB can bring the ball out from the back, but his passing has turned to shite recently unless it is sideways. Maybe next season move him into midfield as a holding player.
Liked Phil Jones when United signed him and he had a promising start, but in the last 3 years (or so) he's been pretty much permanently injured. Kind of like Darren Anderton ++. TBH, he's not helped himself with his (often ill-advised and needless) never say die attitude when it comes to tackling. Kevin Moran was the same without the (level of) injuries. I know it is a different position but Jones reminds me of Balsa Boy (Saha). It's a shame because Jones was the going places when we bought him from Blackburn (?).
Who's your favourite past player?
In terms of my football watching experience, the obvious answer is Eric, but then I guess most people will say this, so instead I'll go for Dennis Irwin, (always understated) quality.
One thing you wish you could tell Fergie?
Only one? Forget the horses and stand up to the Glazers. On the playing side: DJx2, Klebfoot, Tommy Can't Kick, Jordi, Tiabi, Miller, Bebe, Diouf, Easter Island Head (Obertan not Silvestre), Prunier etc WTF! But TBF, SAF's record kind of speaks for itself so the ones that were a bit shite always get a mention in the tabloid rags when the successes don't. Ah, yes, you've got to love (or loathe) the ABU media.
SUPPLIMENTARY UPDATE - One thing you wish you could tell LVG?
Please bugger off to your holiday villa.
SUPPLIMENTARY UPDATE - One thing you wish you could tell Ed?
Please sack LVG and whatever you do, don't appoint Mourinho.
Where did you hear about Republik of Mancunia forum?
I'm sure this used to be a banner (and might still be) in the Stretford End. That was enough for me. I'm not really going to explain what follows very well, because I'm a tired and emotional (aka as a bit pished), but here goes:

- Republik with a backwards K instead C is an ironic take on the Cyrillic (Soviet / Russian) alphabet
- Mancunia is akin to something Orwell (might have said in one of his better books, eg Homage to Catalonia)
- But perhaps more importantly for me, ROM is a statement which says that Manchester is an island within England and (after the Nevilles' and DB etc, you can stuff your fucking England up you arse
