As long as Zlatan scores 25 - 30 goals who cares if he's around another season? Raahford has plenty of time to mature into a full time striker. Look at what happened to Owen playing every week before he was twenty. If Zlatan scores 25-30 this season , we should bloody retain him for another year. That's an amazing return for a seasons work. Rashford has to be given space and time to develop. The burden of carrying this team cannot befall him. We have older pros for that who should bloody well pull their weight for their wages. And you're absolutely correct about the burn out possibilities from being overplayed.

What Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho told Marcus Rashford at half-time
Marcus Rashford ended his Man Utd goal drought in the fixture vs Reading and received some words of wisdom from Jose Mourinho. Jose Mourinho told Marcus Rashford he 'didn't care' about his first-half finishing in Manchester United's 4-0 FA Cup thrashing of Reading. Rashford missed an open goal from an acute angle and was denied by Ali Al-Habsi in a separate opening before he scored twice in the second-half. The 19-year-old ended a goal drought which extended to the 4-1 win over Leicester on September 24 but Rashford's brace capped an excellent week after his impact against Middlesbrough and man of the match award at West Ham. "I spoke with him at half-time and I told him I don't care about the goals he missed in the first-half," Mourinho said. "Because he had a big responsibility in the way we were breaking their defensive line, he was playing so well for us, so one more goal, one last goal, it doesn't change, but obviously for an attacking player to score a goal means happiness, means confidence, so good for him. "He's very fast and the team with Marcus we know how to change from Marcus and Zlatan there to different players without the kind of movements we have to do. "And with Marcus, especially in the first-half, we were very objective and we created lots of problems to Reading." Mourinho knew within a minute United would not underestimate Reading, despite the nine changes he made from the success in London on Monday. "Very professional," he said of the win. "I could feel it since the first minute because to have big chances to score, the team was intense, was dynamic, playing well. "And then obviously, as we expected they are good with the ball, so when we get a chance to have the ball they had it and they moved the ball and they created not big chances but some attacking football, and for a long time the game was too open at 2-0. "But I'm really happy with our attitude." www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/manchester-united-news-fixtures-rashford-12420386

He's so fucking good. Rashford is my new Giggs. He's going to be here for 15 years and break Rooney's scoring record.

I really miss that number on the field and he in it for the next 12+ years would be so awesome. Rashford is hugely promising but like any English player I just bite my tongue until they perform consistently for 3 or 4 seasons and earn all this praise because it ultimately goes to there head. Mourinhos management of Rashford is spot on right now. All the raw ingredients are there for a fine striker but he has to keep working on his game religiously because sooner or later teams work you out.

We have an incredible record with British players and Rashford will be no different.

We have an incredible record with British players and Rashford will be no different. Another big plus is that he is a local kid, who knows the club's history, along with an entire squad and manager that does the same. Plus, there is Ibra, someone who is an example of how to work harder than anyone else, and who doesn't take himself seriously. When the younger kids come up, Rasher will be a leader by example for all of them, even at his young age.

I get what you mean about young players believing their own hype, but he doesn't seem the type. I realise I'm setting myself up for a fall by saying that, but he looks like a grounded, level headed kid. He doesn't have the look of a cock like Morrison, or someone like Joe Cole just wanting to be all tricks and flicks with no end product.
I like how he celebrates a goal, you know, like a normal person, not running to the corner flag to do some pathetic waste of space excuse of an attention seeking "dance".
I know, I'm fucking old and grumpy. Kids today blah blah blah.

Rashford is not just replacing zlatan, the team as a whole is changing tactics and the plays to be able to get the best out of rasher. Good that the team is adapting to different playing styles and actually doing exceptionally well in all of them

is there a better striker in world football at his age right now? he has everything. i personally think there is more to come too, we all know his pace and finishing, but i think he has a locker full of tricks and skills that's going to entertain for years.

The fact that he still smashes the ball into an open goal or with no blocks is what makes me love him more, and then the smile when he scored. The kid is enjoying is time and i really would love if he can break Rooney's record
