It says a lot about Rashford’s form in 2021 that no one is really calling for him to start for England, not even United fans. Obviously England isn’t the measure of how good a player is, but in Sancho’s case at least people were calling for his inclusion. With Rashford, people seem very happy for him to come off the bench and that’s it.

I get the injury thing he needs to sort out but in quite a few games last season his head just didn’t look in the right place. |

My point was more that people have been crying out for Sancho and blaming Gareth playing favourites, whereas I haven't seen any of the same for Marcus. No one seems to be saying "this is bullshit, why isn't Rashford starting" in the way they have been for Sancho and Grealish, and I think that speaks to how poor Marcus has been recently (with a knock of course). |

Yeah I read this as well. For the best really. Really he should have skipped the Euros and got the surgery done over the summer and he would have been spared the frustration of sitting on the bench for the majority of the competition and then the crushing disappointment of missing a penalty.
Hopefully we will be careful with his rehabilitation and take this opportunity to ease him back into the team so he's as close to injury free as possible and able to peak in time for the World Cup. The absolute best possible redemption for him would be to have a good World Cup.
And a wonderful opportunity for Amad and probably last chance saloon for Martial as they'll both get a lot more gametime with Rashford out and Cavani not playing every game.

Good to see he's getting the surgery done and getting a well-deserved rest. Hopefully this will allow him to recapture some form and consistency when he returns.

He should of had it by now and been in pre-season training as part of recovery. He barely kicked a ball in the Euros so I find the timing incredibly frustrating. I think having cavani lessens the blow but a fully fit and firing Rashford is required from the off |
