Yeah for some context for those who haven't read them:

Personally I think the timing for surgery seems perfect. His form has sucked this year. He's lacking in confidence. He's played a ton of football from a young age. Get the surgery done. Give him a bit of R&R. And then when he is nice and fresh he can enjoy the challenge of winning back his place.
That seems far better than having his surgery mid-season or end of the season which could disrupt the rhythm of the team

I wonder what’s worse- the Spectator being such a morally bankrupt shitstain of a publication that it would write a hit job on Marcus allegedly benefitting commercially from his charity work, or then running to the hills and not publishing it when you get blasted by the vast majority of decent human beings?
It would be awful if their online presence continued to bombarded with Rashford love. Truly awful.

I would love to read that article just for shits and giggles to see how they came to their conclusions. Actually, I'm surprised it hasn't been leaked. I think it's important that the press do question the narratives we are fed by the main stream media on a daily basis but this is undoubtedly an attempt to smear someone who is trying to do something throughly decent. I'm pretty sure him and his agent did not sit down and decide the best way to make more money was to help the needy. If he gets a few sponsorship deals as a consequence of genuinely helping people, then what's wrong with that? |

I understand that they're into caricature, but looking at the Kane and Southgate puppets you'll immediately guess who they are. I honestly had to read the name below the photo to know it was Marcus. I think we’ve already been over this? The guy needs a break to recuperate, like all professional athletes. You don’t just open up his shoulder, operate on it and then hand him some tablets and say enjoy your fortnight in Barbados son. |

My point is that this should be way past the discussion stage...
The decision should have been made already...sure you can delay it until he gets back and the surgeon is available but we should not be talking about discussions...what is the upside to not having it done?
