He signed a new contract last year so I'm assuming he will just rather stay here, make a lot of money and occasionally play than move somewhere else. Also, given his versatility and the fact that he really doesn't seem too troubled by being just a squad member I think there's no rush to get rid of him atm. What exactly has Ashley Young done to indicate he's just in it for the money? Ridiculous statement unless you back it up. Maybe he has extra sparkly head rests

Young would be my choice for back-up to Shaw at fullback, and back-up to whoever is going to play right wing. Young is still fast and he can still shoot from distance and he can still whip in a mean cross. He and Blind are our utility men. Rojo needs to go.

I quite like Rojo staying as part of the squad. Hasn't really lived up to his performances at the World Cup but under Jose he might breathe new life into him. Fellaini and Januzaj to be moved on for me. If we get a good offer for Young I'd probably take it also. We don't have Champions League to build a squad for so should take our chance and move on fringe players.

Stating the bleeding obvious here but it's difficult to not let every discussion about a player listed as a potential 'out' boil down to: Why him but not Rooney or Fellaini? Rooney is a long game. He's not going anywhere until at least next Summer. Jose seems to like Big Felli. Unless someone offers silly money, he stays. Young seems to have been usurped by younger/better players in his best positions out-wide. And regardless of how bad Rojo is, he's a more specialised left-back than Young is. So where does he fit in exactly? I actually agree with you- I don't think the club/Jose could be blamed for letting Young go given the reasons you've mentioned. Still, I admire his attitude- he was one of the very few bright spots in the LVG reign (when fit). I understand why Rooney and Fellaini will stay (for now) but it still grates.

Don't understand the Bastian situation. Don't even give the World Cup winning captain a run out? He's immediately deemed plus surplus? Makes no sense, strike against Mou.

Something may (probably has) have gone on behind the scenes.

Hardly did anything for us last year seem so lack of fitness yet was fine for Germany, love the guy as a player and respect what he has done, but we signed him about 5 years to late, not realy to.fussed to see leave, big wages gone and hopefully game time for a youth hopefully

Word is he pissed off quite a few of the people at United when instead of working on his recovery he was jet setting behind his girlfriend, following her tennis tours. Also, while he was totally unavailable for united in the last months , he suddenly was okay for Germany for the Euros. Some of the players also didn't think he was a complete professional at training etc. Sad to read all this. I had a very high opinion of him and still do. I won't believe everything the papers say. But this is what they're saying.

So it's looking like (to me at least) Mourinho wants:
GK: De Gea. Back up's: Romero & Johnstone. RB: Valencia. Back up: Darmian LB: Shaw. Back up: Rojo CB: Smalling & Bailly. Back up's: Jones, Blind, Rojo. DM: Schniederlin. Back up's: Carrick, Fellaini, Blind BTBM: Pogba. Back up: Herrera AM: Rooney. Back up: Mata RW: Henrik. Back up's: Lingard, Mata, Young LW: Martial. Back up's: Memphis, Young F: Zlatan. Back up's: Rooney, Martial, Rashford.
That's a 25 man squad, which seems to be his preference.
If the Mail is to be believed McNair and Love are going to Sunderland. Which leaves CBJ, TFM, Adnan, Bastian, Wilson, Pereira, Keane, Blackett.
My thoughts are Adnan will leave permanently, he needs a fresh start somewhere. Would like a buy back clause in any contract but it doesn't seem to be something we do. Hope he can do well, but the rumours about his attitude don't bode well.
Bastian is obviously going permanently as well. Shame, but he's done nothing for us, rumours about people at the club being far from impressed with his attitude, and is on a massive wage. Unless he wants to stay and milk money (which I don't see) then he'll probably return to Germany or rock up in Turkey. Maybe Italy could be a choice with their slower and easier on the body game.
Blackett and Keane will probably leave permanently too, or at least they should. Neither have done anything special on their loan deals, they're not exactly kids anymore either and it's very doubtful they'll improve enough to be of any real use here. Championship clubs would be a good place to go.
Wilson, CBJ and Pereira I can see being loaned out, Championship most likely though maybe a Premier League side like Hull or Burnley could be useful. They need games, and need to show they have what it takes, Wilson especially who hardly set the world alight at Brighton. Too early to sell them for me, a good loan deal would really show if they have what it takes.
TFM I reckon will stay on. Seems the kind of player Mou likes, and with the cups and Europa League I can see him getting 12-15 starts next season. Think staying here and getting the odd game will be better than a loan move for him.

I think a lot of German players show up for the national side more than they ever have for club. Podolski, Klose to name two. More a shame than anything else, I'm sure his eventual wage deletion will help pay for Pogba.

MEN:
Adnan Januzaj was the bright spark of 2013 but his Man Utd career has gone sour and now David Moyes is ready to swoop.
Ex-Reds boss David Moyes handed the teenage Belgian his Old Trafford breakthrough in 2013 when he gave him his full United debut at Sunderland.
Now new Black Cats boss Moyes wants his prodigy and United academy product at the Stadium of Light to fire up his career again.
Januzaj's impact on Wearside almost three years ago was sensational with a two-goal start against Sunderland that gave United a 2-1 away success.
The then 18-year-old was nurtured under Moyes and made 20 starts in his first season.
But the sacking of Sir Alex Ferguson's successor in favour of Louis van Gaal wasn't a good move for Januzaj. He only made eight starts and 13 sub appearances and amid tales that his early impact had created an attitude problem the midfielder asked to go on loan at the start of last season to Borussia Dortmund.
The Bundesliga switch was a failure, again with attitude cited as a problem, and Januzaj then asked to come back to United in January. But he made only three further sub appearances and missed out on Euro 2016 with Belgium.
It is understood Januzaj wanted a permanent transfer this summer but United have been keen to keep him on their books and loan him out instead.
It appears Mourinho and the club have won that war and Moyes is set to temporarily land the 21-year-old until the end of the season in a bid to resurrect his flagging career.

He isn't fucking Moyes' prodigy. Fergie had Januzaj on the bench for West Bromwich.
