Superb deal given the circumstances. Ideal scenario is he kills it for Lyon and we Barcelona him. Or he's still terrible and we don't. Joyous days we're like a real football club again. Lyon president aulAs is saying the figures are higher than what the press is reporting. If that's true I'd say job well done. Win win for everyone. Tidy fee now, buyback if he does extremely well or sell on if we don't want him. It would appear all bases are covered.

What is this "common sense" wizardry?
We'd have sold him for €15 million a few seasons back.

Very disappointed Morgan and Memphis have gone.
Not saying I wouldn't have sold them, just disappointed in general. Morgan was superb at Southampton, had such high hopes he'd be massive for us. And a blind man could see a talented player lives in Memphis, it was just a case of getting it out of him.
Still, considering the fees we got for Rafael, Nani, Chico, etc at least we've actually dug our feet in with these two.
Best of luck to them, even though one went and signed for the twats.

Beginning to think (and this is obvious) that whilst some players have everything and more with regards to ability, others have the mental resolve to make it at United. You have to have a strong character and the determination to make it here, Ander is a perfect example. Been saying for a while selling Schneiderlin, looking at where we're ay next season, makes little sense but the guy isn't just an asset and he needs to play. Reckon Depay will flourish at Lyon, needs to feel important and to play regularly without the pressure he'd been playing under at United.

In general nowadays to make it at the top and just get to that elite level the game in just as much mental as it is skill. on one scale you have Morrison who when he wants can glide past a man with ease but his mental game is flat out weak so he has not reached a tenth of the level he should be at and the other scale you have Ronaldo who just got better and better and mentally stronger each season, he just gets it. without a shadow of a doubt the buys we make have to have the combination as that is what will drive us to succeed,

Even if it is only £15M that is a good price for a player who's only ever looked the real deal against European minnows. I'm sure he'll do well in the French league but like the Dutch league it is not the same level as the EPL. Recouping basically all our money for Morgan who looked a shadow of the complete midfielder he was at Southampton is also good business. Bottom line Mourinho has shifted two LVG signings he didn't fancy who basically flopped and has an extra £40M to spend in the summer. We've also shown clubs we no longer sell on the cheap and that will serve us well for future sales. I'd expect this summer we'd most likely be looking to move on Rojo, Darmian and Fellaini. That represents a total investment of around £60M and I'd back Jose to get back 2/3 of that.

He had a cracking game against Arsenal. So yeah, European minnows.

Saw article in B?R saying United wanted to keep Zlat till 2019 and then there was supposedly some rumors at a high level that he would possibly be offered a chance to coach in some capacity Sign him up!~

That could be because the French law doesn't allow buyback clauses. Given that the English press said that there is one, it could be a gentlemen's agreement.

Memphis' buy-back clause or not is moot. He ain't ever coming back.
