Didn't see the Conlan fight, but was it as bad as this.... Saw a few pics of the Russian looking pretty beaten up, but that's it. EDIT : No fucking around in this... Conlan won every round according to all neutrals. His opponent who "won" is having to withdraw from the next round due to his injuries sustained fighting Conlan. Judges from that fight all got fired today, however the result hasn't been over turned and if Conlan keeps saying he was chested the AIBA have threatened legal action against him. Fishy as fuck I don't think the AIBA have handled this particularly well at all. They done the right thing suspending the coaches but some of the crap I've heard from them is horse shit, for example giving there Judges time to come to terms with the new rules. That kind of crap would drive me mental if I spent the last 4 years training for these games only to be denied by a Judging panel who don't understand what it is there trying to do. It might be Amateur boxing but the officiating shouldn't be. The judges should be justifying why they rewarded the bout to the Russian instead of Conlon because I don't understand how he won that fight.

Image training as an amateur for 4 more years. Turning down pro contracts because you wanted to better your performance 4 years previously. You fight your way to number 1 amateur in the world and number 1 seed in the olympics.
You hear about dodgy officiating but you are confident you could still obviously beat your opponent. You win all three rounds according to every analyst on the planet but they award your opponent the victory.
To make matters worse, your opponent has to pull out of the next round due to the beating you gave him. The judges who were against you have been sacked for "underperforming" and the AIBA then threaten you with legal action if you continue to complain.
Don't know why anyone would want to bother with the AIBA. Hope Conlan takes heart from Floyd Mayweathers amateur career

Boooom. Another gold for Kenny! Never in doubt again. How fucking good are we at cycling!? Also the debacle in the keirin meant I could watch the Joyce fight who got through to the semi's after dominating from start to finish. To good according to the Aussies, Germans and French who have been moaning about it the last couple of days. Of course historically these countries are very supportive of British sporting achievements..... TBF, British cyclists tend to win next to nothing in between Olympic cycles, yet every 4 years, they turn up, smash WR's left and right and win everything in sight. Those countries might have a point...

Brownlee brothers 1-2 in the Triathlon! Alistair completely dominant and Jonathan miles ahead of 3rd. Never really doubted it!

For us, brazilians, the Olympic medal means as much as an Euro to England. I will never accept Argentina has a medal and we don't. The Football gods must fix this. Winning it against Germany would bring some sense of pride in the jersey. Micale (the manager) has worked for years with those kids. If anyone deserves the medal (in here), it's him.

Don't know too much about Taekwondo but I'm enjoying seeing our girl Jones boot the fuck out of the Belgian! Edit: Didn't even know how it was spelt!-she's made the final though.

With the exception of football the British have been getting better at sports for years now & Aussies have been getting worse. If they need the Olympics to tell them that they are stupid.

Athletics will certainly be more boring if this is Bolts last race.
Don't think we'll ever see someone make it look so effortless.

Don't think we'll ever see someone make it look so effortless. the man is a LEGEND! he will be in the relay so there is a little more to see. it's most likely his last Olympics, he probably will run in the world championships before he fully retires. but when he does go, the sport will take a major hit. he is a phenom.

I'm not even going to pretend that I pay much attention to the Olympics, summer or winter, but I tuned in to watch Bolt twice. Not only is he an incredible athlete, but he's an accomplished showman as well. He wins at a cantor and has so much fun doing it, you can't help but root for him.
Having said that, Andre de Grasse...bronze in the 100m, silver in the 200m, from nowhere. We could have another Donovan Bailey on our hands here. Don't forget that Bolt didn't make it out of the heats in his first Olympics in 2004, and this little Canadian has two medals, and a Bolt Bromance.
