Anyone got any recommendations where to get dinner after a match at OT? Bringing the family to the Watford game next month and looking for somewhere not too crowded and within walking distance ( 8 year old going to his first game ).

The Lowry has Nando's, Pizza Express, a Chinese and and Bella Italia. The restaurant in the theatre was nice too but I haven't been in years. All should be workable after the game. At Salford Quays there is a Frankie and Benny's, a knock-off Mexican place I've never been to in my life in Manchester or elsewhere and a family pub-restaurant. 8 is probably a bit young for the pub considering the likely crowd, but it's usually okay.

The terrace at the Trafford town hall if you're in for the pies. Price is excellent but you may face a queue.

Frankie and Benny's will do fine. No point in going to a decent place when the kids will only eat spaghetti bolengese, pizza and nuggets and chips. When we were over last January, the missus and myself went to Marco Pierre Whites place in Media City. It was fine, nothing wrong with it, though I probably was expecting a bit more considering whose name over the door. thanks a mil guys, much appreciated.

one last question, what are the licensing laws regarding kids in a boozer? do I have to purchase food or is there a time when they have to be out?

Hmm. You know, I don't actually have a clue. Probably okay as long as the kid isn't drinking. Obviously.
