I know we have a Brexit/General Politics thread on here but thought the General Election deserved a thread of its own. Feel free to use, or abuse!

Ah the time arrives once again where so much is promised and so little gets delivered.
Where the working man get screwed and the people that sponge off the system enjoy more luxuries.
Introducing...the bellend election.

We built the place as it is and use it most (well, except for the Irish but we don't talk about them *Hi Stew! * )

Our dole queues are long enough as it is without adding a few more miles to them.

Voted Tory in 2015, and my local MP is very good, but he's also very safe. Might vote Lib Dem because I don't like Theresa's brand of Conservatism (or, at least, what we know of it - grammars etc.), but will wait for the manifestos and see what they say.
I'm guessing Theresa will end up with a majority between 80-120. They'll lose 15 odd seats to the Lib Dems, but smash Labour a lot.
I hope Labour become credible again after this election. Never voted for them and doubt I will anytime soon, but a weak opposition usually leads to worse government. May's already made a couple of slips due to lack of pressure from Labour (basically trying to ignore the 2015 manifesto, hence the election now). The best recipe for success would be a solid but not unstoppable majority (say 40-60) but with a focused opposition breathing down their necks.

The Lib Dems are a nightmare. The very worst of ultra-political-correctness condescension sermonisers. Farron is just hateful. I'm sick of being told I had no idea what I voted for in the EU referendum and need to have why I am both wrong and an idiot explained to me at every opportunity. Wish the Liberal Democrats could just fold.
I completely agree good government needs a strong, organised opposition but there isn't a single party you could trust in opposition to pick the right battles for the right reasons. All politics is about self-interest unfortunately but the likes of the Lib Dems, Corbyn's Labour, and the SNP have turned dressing up a single-aim agenda as better public policy into a theatrical production.

Very surprised Theresa May has said she is personally in favour of fox hunting and will offer a free vote on it. It's a very emotive issue with very high support for a ban, particularly among exactly the kind of usual Labour voters who will be considering voting for her.
This is the kind of own goal a government/party only makes when they have no opposition. Fox hunting should be nowhere near this election.
