VIDEO: UNITED'S LAST EUROPEAN SEMI-FINAL
As Manchester United prepare to face Celta Vigo in Thursday's decisive Europa League semi-final second leg, it's been six years since the club were on the brink of reaching a European final.
On that occasion, the Reds welcomed Schalke to Old Trafford in May 2011 for the return match in a Champions League last-four tie, already leading 2-0 from the first leg thanks to goals from Ryan Giggs and Wayne Rooney.
Antonio Valencia and Darron Gibson put United in the driving seat with two first-half strikes and, although Jurado pulled a stunning goal back for the German side, Anderson's second-half brace ensured Sir Alex Ferguson's men eased into a third final in four years, winning 4-1 on the night to complete a comfortable aggregate success and set up a Wembley showdown with Barcelona.

Eric bailly magic He wears a magic hat And when you throw a brick at him He'll head the fucker back He'll head it to the left He'll head it to the right And when we win the europa league we'll sing this song all night!
Was listining to talk-sport this morning and Jose said that this game is the biggest in our history?
“In terms of motivation, we are even,” he said. “For Celta, in their words, it’s the most important match of their history and my feeling is that it’s also the most important match of our history.
“It doesn’t matter what happened before, what matters most is the next one. I don’t believe Celta want it more than us.”
“I am not thinking about myself,” said Mourinho, with a straight face. “I am thinking about the club and I am thinking about the players. For the club it will be very important to be again in a European final. It would be very important to fight for the only trophy the club has never won before.
“For the prestige and the finance, the Champions League is the Champions League. For myself and the players, the Champions League is the Champions League. “It doesn’t matter what happened before, what matters most is the next one. I don’t believe Celta want it more than us.”

Only Jose knows what he meant whichever way right now this game is massive, the final if we get there even more massive. simply put we need to get in the champions league, with the exchange rates etc the debt is not something to be trifled with under the current owners as they wont dip into their own pockets to sort things out. We need to keep the sponsor money rolling in, big names want champions league football, one year out is bad, 2 is damaging somewhat.
We've bottled a top 4 position so we have to prioritise the Europa now. No Rooney and no Fellaini. Tuanzebe needs to partner Bailly, deserve more game time after the performance against Arsenal. One of very few that put some effort in.
I'd drop Martial as well given that he doesn't seem to give a fuck and its only his European form that would stop me from dropping Mikki as well after his last few games.
2 more big performances this season to stop the season from ending a big disappointment. Then a fucking clear out is needed.

Valencia - Bailly - Tuanzebe - Blind
Herrera - Pogba - Mata
Mikki - Rashford - Young
Isn't Young out for the rest of the season after the Swansea game?
