UNITED COMPLETE SIGNING OF VICTOR LINDELOF
Manchester United is delighted to announce the signing of Victor Lindelof from Benfica on a four-year contract from 1 July 2017, with an option for a further year.
The 22-year-old Swedish international centre-back is a versatile defender and will make his debut on the summer tour of the USA in July.
Jose Mourinho said:
"Victor is a very talented young player, who has a great future ahead of him at United. Our season last year showed us that we need options and quality to add depth to the squad and Victor is the first to join us this summer. I know that our fantastic group of players will welcome him as one of us."
Victor Lindelof said:
"I am thrilled to be joining Manchester United. I have enjoyed my time at Benfica enormously and I have learned a lot there. But I’m looking forward to playing in the Premier League at Old Trafford and for Jose Mourinho. I’m keen to get started and make my contribution to the team’s efforts to win more trophies."

Manchester United fans are obviously eager to discover more about our first summer signing Victor Lindelof so MUTV asked the man himself to describe his playing style in his first interview at the Aon Training Complex.
The 22-year-old Swedish defender, bought from Benfica, has obtained the nickname 'The Iceman' for his cool persona on the field.
"I think I’m quite a calm player," he said. "I like to have the ball at my feet. I think I’m good with the ball. I think I’m quite good at reading the game and I give my players in front of me quite a calmness knowing I’m back there trying to protect them as well as I can."
So where does Lindelof expect to fit in at United, having played right-back and defensive midfield in the past but really made his mark at centre-back for club and country.
"Well, my position is a centre-back but, like you said, I was playing right-back before and started my footballing career as a midfielder. But I see myself as a central defender. I feel most comfortable there."

Good solid lad to go with the good solid lad we've already got. Can't wait to see him and EB play together.

we are going to have one hell of a center back pairing now, adding mike into rotation while getting rid of Jones and Chris then we'll be set

Not seen him play but from what Ive read and clips I've saw I'm getting a "Rio Vidic" feeling.
He can play the calm Rio role, and Bailly the "no prisoners, I'll head a brick" Vidic role.
Hopefully this is the case.
