If we sell Jones and keep Smalling it will be the most backwards transfer we've done for a while. Smalling is shite. At least when he's fit Jones is a cracking defender. Smalling has had a halcyon 10 months (I ignored the summer when we weren't playing) under the most defensive manager we have had in 30 odd years otherwise has been mid-table at best.

Aye, just heard Jose's presser. Very much sounds like Jones is on his way out. Which I agree is criminal while Smalling remains at the club.

If Jones is indeed on his way out, whoever is in for him has done a bloody good job at keeping it quiet. I haven't read anything linking him with a move away from the club and can't find anything now besides people saying the same about Jose's comments in the presser.

I was a big Smalling fan but he's clearly regressed. Jones is way ahead of him. I'd say he's probably our best CB, or on a par with Bailly. I know it's preseason but I don't know if Lindelof is ready to start week in week out in the league. If we do sell Jones it leaves us quite light considering Rojo is out already. Unless he really fancies Axel. |

I stil think we are severely lacking in quality in certain areas and Lukaku isn't going to fix the issues we had last year.
I really want to be wrong but right now I'm concerned .
