Costa Rica is definitely on my bucket list. Have you looked into the visa situation for each one? That's some retirement planning you've got!

I haven't done too much research yet, I've got at least 10 years to do all the planning. But I don't see any issues. You can literally buy passports for most nations, and it's legal. Doesn't cost too much for developing countries, either. All it takes is a certain amount of investment into the country. I'll just do that if I have to. A lot can change in the next ~10 years, so I'm not in any rush to make plans or decisions.

Costa Rica already going up in cost (I was looking at some things myself for moving on) an in 10 years, might not be as inviting. Lot of beautiful spots that are more than affordable though.

That's something I'm struggling with. If I bought somewhere now, I would almost certainly save myself a substantial amount of money. My old boss bought a place in Croatia in the late 90's for about 30k, I would imagine it is worth substantially more than that now. But on the other hand, the world can change a lot in the next 10-15 years. Neither central America or SE Asia are the most stable regions, and other regions may improve in that time. I don't want to get locked in to a place like Belize now when in 10 years it might be overrun by cartels. And maybe by that time other parts of the world might look more appealing. Places like Kenya, Tanzania, and Mozambique are all beautiful countries that could improve a lot over the next decade or so.

And where, Iraq/Syria isn't an option. Don't like terrorism.

I accept no responsibility for any scorpion infestations there may or may not be.

My personal goal to be light, happy and at ease with myself wherever I am, and have the maturity to understand when it is time to stop and change directions.
That's the hardest thing I could ever achieve in life.
EDIT NUMBER TWO: STOP SPENDING ALL MY MONEY ON BOOKS AND CLOTHES. JUST CHECKED AND IN TWO WEEKS I HAVE COMPROMISED MORE THAN 80% OF MY CREDIT CARD LIMIT ON BOOKS. FUCK ME.

Which is why it is the hardest thing I could ever achieve. This is one of my happy places and that's why I missed this board so much. In real life, I struggle with perfectionism and other shite. About the 'invisible' it was discrimination for being a foreigner

You are a young intelligent lady, at a young age life can be shite sometimes but just plod along the way you are and when you reach my age you can look at all the shite you have had to put up with in the past but you are still in the land of the living with a big smile on your face. P.S. and grey hairs on your head and in other places

P.S. and grey hairs on your head and in other places ROFLMAO, great advice an to the point An when you get to that age, if you play your cards right, you get to be eccentric, and that is when you pay back all the muppet kids that gave you the grey hair in the first place.... Favorite game to play with 2-3 year olds is "Poke Mom in the Eye" EDIT* Being on the extreme can freekin ROCK! Just gotta get that adrenaline under your control an ride it.
