It makes far more sense that he plays for Scotland than England. He has signaled before he's more Scottish than English.

That statement makes no sense if you were born while your parents were on holiday. There's more to nationality than where you popped out of the vagina. Well that's slightly different from someone who's born and lived in a country only to play for another one. Such as all the ROI players who were English. Same goes for all the Welsh 'English ' players. How can that be right? I think they just go by the rules of citizenship in a way. If you are born & live overseas but you have a British Grandparent then by law you are British, you can get a passport. I think all nations have a different rule but the football teams works off something similar to that.

So McTominay decides to piss away any potential international career eh? He decides he’d rather sit on his arse rather than compete at the business end of summer tournaments, to sign up to a country with a bizarre sense of its own importance, stuck in past glories while largely being irrelevant in International terms since the 90s, who instead- Oh sorry, he didn’t declare for England. My mistake! Thanks for that, laughed my arse off 7-1!

Thanks for that, laughed my arse off 7-1! I'd do the joke of 5 world cups for Brazil and 2 for England but you don't even have two of those

Fair play to him. I can imagine he was brought up Scottish so I don't think it's a lack of ambition on his part. Probably awkward question for him as a kid hence why he turned down invitations from both Scotland and England youth set ups.
Best of luck to him, will be a good experience for him.

not a problem with him choosing Scotland and you cant question his ambition based on that. Giggs chose Wales over England too.
least we don't have to worry about him playing in summer tournaments. the Scottish I know are proud to be Scottish and I don't know any of them that would choose to play for England over them.

But he was born in Wales. His family was from Wales. If he had desperately wanted to play for England he possibly could have but he is quoted as saying "it was impossible for me to play for England".

No he couldn't. The rules, that would have made it possible, were only changed in 2009. And Giggs had long passed the eligibility criteria by that time anyway, as he was a full Welsh International.
