Surprised no one had made the thread yet for such a big game!
Not sure how to feel about this. On the one hand Arsenal have excellent home form and fairly decent form overall. On top of that, our record vs. the top 6 away is probably the weakest part of Jose's reign so far, with 7 games that have seen 0 wins, 4 losses, 1 goal (I think?) and some absolutely dire football.
On the other hand, it's fucking Arsenal and I can't accept not beating that fucking club. Plus, we need the 3 points, and Jose has a great record against them.

Their should be goals in this arsenals defense is crap and if we put the pressure on we should be able stick a few past them. If jose turns up at this game playing defensive and hopeing to nick a 1 nil win he can fuck of for me

Don't buy into this notion anymore that if you play an open game against Arsenal they'll tear you apart. We should definitely be having a go.
The final score flattered them against Huddersfield, they were rocking in the first half and a better team would've gone into half time level or in front.
3 at the back seems to be their go to formation right now and seems we played so excellently using the same formation on Tuesday I see no reason to change. Same lineup but with Rashford coming in for Lingard.
We have to win and I think we will. Can actually see this being a really entertaining game.

As I said elsewhere, I think this has shaped up into a season-definer. We have to keep close to City in order to close it to 5 if we beat them. I'd definitely refer to Fergie's tried and trusted 5 man midfield and kicking lumps out of them, with the proviso we don't forget the 'hit them on the counter' part of the deal. Pogba has a huge role to play as he's the one to lead the charge you'd feel. I'm also very confident Rom will score and bully that Arsenal defence. 2-1 Utd in a tough, tough game.

My fear is that the 5 man midfield would leave Lukaku as isolated as he was at Anfield, but it works so well vs. Arsenal (and I think would continue to do so even thought they now play 3 at the back) if done right. As you say, we need to do it right and make sure Lukaku gets service on the counter.

I reckon it'll be very similar to what we played against Watford. May see Herrera or Fellaini play instead of Lingard though to toughen up the midfield. If Matic is missing (which would be a big miss), I can see them both starting alongside Pogba.
Would be good to see Rashford and Martial up top together at some point, especially if Lukaku continues to be awful.

Every game until May next year is going to be a hard one but we just have to soldier along, I think we can beat them and 1-0 will do me.

You seem to have a decent record results wise when it comes to match day threads looking at this season. I have faith. It's about time we beat these chancers anyway. We should have finished them off at home last season. Still annoyed about that one.

Not going to this one, just made the thread because the game is tomorrow and we still didn't have one which I thought was odd. Last year at home was an astoundingly frustrating draw. They were utterly terrible that day.

we should absolutely going into this game to attack and kick them to pieces. this is what we have always been about against these and its usually worked. they also have Lacazette injured and Sanchez has got a dodgey hamstring but hes available.
I wanna see the same as Tuesday, but I can imagine Matic will be out. Bring Herrera in for him and play Lingard in front of the midfield and behind Martial / Lukaku to do the tracking and stopping them playing out from the back. hes going to be on a high so let him continue. Lukuku needs to go into this game with his back up and with aggression to prove he can do it and lead our line. hes been assisting so I wont worry too much about the lack of recent goals.

Agree with everything other than playing Lingard as a #10. He's probably earned a start in the managers eyes, but not as a fucking 10. Stick him on the wing if we have to.

Fellaini, Bailly and Jones are out apparently. Matic has travelled with the squad. Imagine Jose will risk Matic if he's half-fit now Fellaini is out, which is understandable but could have grave long term consequences.

Anybody else wondering if Mourinho is 'injury listing' Fellaini because he won't sign a new deal?
