A shirtless Marcos Rojo first in to punch some City heads, followed by Valencia. Do not fuck with our South American boys. Rojo looks like a mean hombre. Good lads! I hope they landed a few punches!

we all knew Jose was coming in to steady the ship and sort us out. which he is doing. we were on a very steep decline. he has steady the sails and going in the right direction. hes won us trophies and were second in the league in all cups still. for now he is our best option. he said he needed 3 summers which I also believe to be true as there are still huge holes in our squad. if he could have got every signing he wanted in the summer we might be doing even better but our board and recruiters failed him. he got it wrong against City but he has still got a lot right. im not throwing him out yet. we are not Chelsea or City and we have to stick by him and keep moving forwardI think we can both stick by him & agree that he may not be the hero we're all looking for. We can look at him as the best current option while not totally falling in love with him.

So when PSG blow the biggest chance of progressing in the European Cup against Barcelona, the manager is not rated. Yet Tottenham bottle every single big game they play in, but their manager should be a contender for our gig? Riiight. I was also concerned with Penalty gate. I thought he really embarrassed himself there. Neymar has seemed to completely take over that dressing room & he seems to have lost control. PSG were my favourites for the Champions League this season but I think they might go out to an out of form real Madrid. just a few areas for concern.

This Dunphy spends most of his time slagging us off. Makes Keane look like a pacifist.

You really think they both are comparable? The man who got us 7th with all resources available, went on chasing Bale all summer to panic buying Fellaini to the man who has just finished first in a champions league group with Real Madrid and Dortmund on the third team of his career? Even though they were at a bad moment, you'd expect Spurs to be 2nd or in the Europa. So yeah, I find it a harsh comparison. Especially because Pochettino just started his career in comparison to Moyes. There's a 20 year gap between the two of them. Can only judge them on what they have done. And so far their records are similar. Poch has time on his hands and all it will take is one trophy to beat Moyes but until he actually does it he is on a par with him (along with plenty of other managers too). Liverpool broke all sorts of records in the CL & city are apparently the greatest PL team ever, but until they actually turn up with a trophy or 3 (hello Treble) then their records are worth fuck all. People are going on about Wenger being the longest serving manager and all that shit. I actually heard a pundit mention how Fergie must be sitting at home regretting retirement, especially with Arsenal going unbeaten that time. Yes, im sure Wenger taking Arsenal through an unbeaten season (years ago) and hanging on at least 6 years too long is really going to trouble Fergie and all his Winners medals. I am wary of how he treated the league cup and to some extent, I agree. However, I wouldn't go to the length of putting him alongside Moyes just for the trophies. And please tell me the bold part is a joke.

There's been a few games now (mainly away from home) where his tactics have been completely off. I'm still behind him but he needs to change his approach especially in these big games, Our record against the top 6 sides is absymal under Mourinho so far. Not just his fault though, the players on the pitch have to take responsibility aswell. Still pissed off about Sunday though. Thought if anybody had a chance at halting them it was us at home.

Yes, Mourinho plays absolute atrocious football against top sides (especially vs. Chelsea, City and Liverpool). Clearly he prefers the safety of going for 1 point (and maybe by some miracle get all 3) than to risk the pain of losing. Why is he not trying to win these games like Pep? Fuck me, I don’t know.. but I’m guessing it’s his nature to not take unnecessary risks if he can’t be mostly certain of having the pleasure of winning - as in, he still doesn’t believe he has the squad that he wants.
I will say this though in his defense, he’s done enough since joining us to not be slaughtered by the fans. Yes, he sets us up to play very badly against the top sides, but he’s already won us 2 trophies and has brought in some really good players that will hopefully help us win a lot more. So many of us said that “a top 2 finish and a good UCL run” will be considered a great season given the transition the club is going through, are we not on course?

managers wont get it right every time and I agree his record against the top 6 is dross and that's 1 thing he needs to improve. but all managers make mistakes.
at the moment hes the best option we can have. were on the right path. players need to take so much more responsibility. players like Herrera have been utter toilet this year and he was rubbish against city and he didn't even smash anyone. if your getting outclassed hit someone hard. players need to take more responsibility on the pitch too regardless of tactics, the players knew walker was on an early booking but they didn't get at him, didn't wind him up, didn't do anything. they need bigger balls and get ready for a fight. lukaku got bullied every time even if hes not gonna win the ball or keep the ball at least leave one on them or rough them up.

Was this forum going when Moyes was here? I'd like to see the comments then.

Some good can come out of this. Hopefully Jose looks at the Arsenal game and the City game and sees the difference in attack. Yes we defended badly against Arsenal, but that was due to a couple of atrocious mistakes and general poor performances from a couple of players, not because the attacking intent we showed led to a weaker defensive display. As long as he doesn't draw the latter conclusion, he should be able to learn from his mistakes in this game and show a bit more intent next time.

Let’s be honest, the odd good game certainly doesn’t outweigh the number of bad ones. Come on mate, that's just not true. We've had no more than 5 or 6 bad games this season, out of 24. I'm not trying to be the ultimate Jose apologist out here, but let's just try and remain realistic. It's incredibly annoying that we're playing like this in the big games and I honestly don't know the reason and I hope this will change, but "game after game of utter tripe" think it'a bit much. We've had more than 5 or 6, it's all very subjective though and what you may think has been an enjoyable performance, I haven't. Maybe I'm being way too critical, but it's hard not to be when you see the likes of City and Spurs play good football week in week out and us stuttering through matches.
