There are times football is art. Then there are times its war, as with all contact sports. I’m surprised this is news. Totally agreed, and when I see David Silva out-muscling a bunch of >6ft defenders and DMs I can't help but think that what we lack is not hurt pride or gang mentality but a proper game plan that will give us a chance on the pitch against quality sides. Oh well, thanks to that busy fixture list it's almost time to move on to the next game thread... Don’t get me wrong, I’d much prefer to have seen us booting lumps out of those twats on the pitch too. I just think a bit of genuine hatred will actually help us in the long run.

You need home grown players for that, and that requires patience which is lacking in today's football atmosphere. I bet half of our mercenaries refer to our club as "Manchester" when interviewed back home.

I really dont think jose is at fault , if lukakku had finished his chance it could have been a draw.
Also the difference in quality of both squads is a factor. Look at the number world class attacking players in both teams- we have just one pogba, and there are martial and rashford who has the potential, city has aguero, silva and debryne absolutely top quality and they have jesus, sane, sterling, bernardo silva with potential.
Without pogba i dont think there was any other way jose could have approached it, its ugly but almost worked

If the only scrap of hope is that our shit £75M striker doesn't shank it at the 'keepers face is the best bit of spin you can come up with, we're fucked.

Thing that bugs me about Jose as well in games like this is how late he leaves it to make changes. 2-1 down, playing like shit and he doesn't make an attacking change until the 76th minute. Nor does he seem to have a plan B that doesn't involve long balls.
Not just the city games he's done it in either. Been a few this season where he's left it far too late to change things around.
