So happy I PVR’d instead of watching live. Fast forwarded thru that first half and most of the second half. 4 points dropped in two days and all of a sudden top 4 is going to be a battle. Aye, we're closer to 7th than we are 1st points wise. Time to start concentrating on those behind us.

The Lukaku and Ibra solutions aren't working/don't work. We need a finisher who has some mobility left. Don't forget that this manager loves him some Fellaini, so the idea he's suddenly come up with a different style is just fantasy.
On paper, it sure looked like a strong starting XI. Jones & Bailly to be the pairing, once Bailly is back. Lukaku is a busted flush, how long do we persist with him?
Matic still our best player.

I really think that the Parsnip v Sprouts debate is the way to move this thread on, and with that in mind, Sprouts, roasted or steamed?, had the former yesterday ,safe to say that roasting them enhances the Sprouty flavour 10 fold, safe to say that an enhanced sprout is a thing that I will never want to eat again.🤪

It's the end of the year and Lingard is our joint 2nd highest scorer this season.
Not many imagined we'd be saying that in August.

Already beat his previous best in terms of goals in a season. A lot will think he's being made to look better because of others but he's clearly improved for me. Also worth noting that of his 23 appearances this season 12 have been as a sub and he's still got 9 goals and 4 assists. Completely deserving of a starting role at the minute.

Something needs changing,I’ve been a fan of Rom ,but I’m now struggling. Don't worry mate. In a few hours the 'Manager is never wrong, it's all on the players' brigade will be here to make you feel better, just hang in there a little while longer So who do you replace him with?

Kane will end 2017 on 56 goals for club and country, the first player outside of Ronaldo and Messi to finish the year top scorer in Europe since 2009.
He also toppled Alan Shearer's 22-year-old record for the most Premier League goals in a calendar year and became the first player to score six Premier League hat-tricks in a year.
Pay whatever it takes.

Yeah, fair play to him.
I'm far from his biggest fan, and he's not good enough to be a regular for me, but at the minute, he's producing a damn sight more than Miki is (or was when Miki was getting games), and he's scoring as regular as Martial or Rashford are whilst playing better and actually looking like he's trying.

Another thing on Lingard, his improvement almost certainly coincides with playing as a #10. He was always better centrally when in the youth/reserve teams in my opinion despite being pretty decent playing all across the attack.

I agree on the part about him being a regular. He's got to improve a considerable amount before I think he's our future number 10 or anything (although he is a late bloomer, so not ridiculous to suggest he could improve further). I've always said he's a solid squad player though and I think if he maintains this level he'll turn himself into a really good squad player.

Went back and rewatched our first goal: Matic has the ball on the left side and the Burnley defense has us pretty well marked. Normally we would continue trying to force the ball down that side with little passes, but Matic said fuck this and turned and ran with the ball towards the middle and created the energy that lead (eventually, after some pinball) to Lingard's goal. Seems we are lacking this type of instinct frequently, where one player decides to pretend he's *not* playing basketball with simple little passes in a semi-circle outside the opposition's box. Mkhi had some good luck with this kind of play awhile ago. And both of Lingard's goals were basically snap decisions. Whoever said Stone Cold fluffs it when he thinks too long was bang on.

Lingard is a great instinctive finisher, always has been. He screws himself over when he misses chances. he's good enough for United when he puts everything into it.
