I’m hoping that José has a moment of clarity and takes Rom out of the team for the next 2 or 3 games for his own sake, his confidence looks totally shot, and it won’t harm him in the long run. He can do no right at present, although I am stubbornly refusing to give up on him. Yet. Don't do this to yourself: you know Lukaku is starting and playing the full 90. It's kind of like Fellaini Syndrome all over again. Actually Fellani would be kind of useful right now.

I can see why we want to see Lukaku benched but how does it help when he's already likely low on confidence? It could possibly compound the problem. I think Jose is hoping that he'll play thru this and start banging in the goals again. It goes one of two ways, either he starts to score again next game, and we win well v Southampton and everything in the garden is rosy, or he doesn’t score, gets involved in a catastrophic set-piece where we concede a-la the last couple of games ,and we draw,or God forbid, lose , that would surely destroy him forever. I’d rather see him left out, play Rash and Anthony in an old fashioned 4-4-2 ,and shit or bust gung-ho ,attack in waves like we used to-approach, although I can’t see it somehow! I’m being romantic-because I’ve had beer-it IS Christmas FFS!

He has his moments but he's probably the most limited midfielder we have, other than being good from set pieces he offers very little with the ball at his feet. I think we are ok in midfield when both Matic and Pogba are fit. There's really no need for Fellaini.

If nothing else there is always the occasional whack of a pointy elbow to an opponents ear which I find rather enjoyable I am not an advocate for violence but there are definitely individuals we play against that look good with a bit of blood on their ears

The big guy has knocked in a few important goals, kind that end up with me flipping backwards in the chair (got it set now so I don't fall out, head thumps corner of wall ) 2 managers now rate him. Make for a good article in paper to study why fans want him used for chum an managers like him I think Carbs should work on that article, Felli been his favorite since day 1 he should have the low down That machine gun tapping sound is grampy an his cane running off

not that i like saying that, but some of the goals we've been conceding lately could have been avoided with big tree in there. for all his limitations,he is a better header of the ball than most of our defenders and better at defending than lukaku. you can hate him as much as you want, but thats a fact.

He almost never jumps to head the ball, and didn't Defoe beat him in the air to a ball? He is useful as a backboard, maybe, just chesting the ball down to someone else.

Won a header THROUGH Tree at midfield.

Every team I ever played on, no matter the sport, seemed to have one guy like Felli, would kill himself for coach in practice an not gret players but they got gametime..
