alrite everyone... im 18 and have been a man utd fan since i can remeber...im half greek-cypriot and have been living in croydon south london for the last 2 years..... my godfather is from mancunia and he was at the 68 european cup final and my old man fell in love with the club in the 80s (he still says whiteside is his favourite player)...so ive been brought up the right way ;D King Eric, kan kan and giggsy are the players that caught my imagination when we won the 1st double and they opened my eyes to football.......still the best players i have seen in a utd shirt..favourite player at the moment is gabby heinze and saha... even though i have only managed to go to one game at old trafford (this year vs spurs... id like to add greatest day of my life, il never forget how i felt when i first entered the ground...lets just say i had a moment )... i have travelled to munich, the nou camp, del alpi, athens x3 and nicosia to watch utd, when i was living in cyprus...seemed to be easier to get tickets..... anyway i seem to have come across all soppy (hey..it aint my fault) so il wrap it up here...... one last thing....even though im a south london boi (n limassol) i love man utd and my life revolves around ths club, the greatest club in the world #football#

I'M HALF GREEK CYPRIOT. Where abouts are your family from? Limassol? I have a lot of family there, and a house! That's so cool.
How anyone could have fallen in love with United in the 80s is beyond me, but good on him! lol.
You were at Old Trafford to see Silvestre score eh? That doesnt happen very often!

Lol dont get me started on the Turks mate! Most of my family is in Limassol, but I have some in Paphos, and quite a few friends there too. I dont follow the footie over too much, but have been to a few games. AEL, AEL! lol. To be fair, Spurs scored a cracking goal that day, and we didnt play that well. But 2nd place by a point shows quite clearly that EVERY point counts!

lol wat ppl in that country need to undestand is that there are two sides to every story...i mean they dont remind u bout wen hundreds of turks where slaughtered in the GSO stadium in the 60s... we fucked up majorly as well.....but lets not get started on that..... i support omonia nicosia...my 2nd love....i grew up on the terraces following them..had some good times and some very bad ones..but its all good i was behind the goal when jenas scored the free kick...but at the end of the day tottenham are like us in many ways...no one likes us, the media rips us apart and the fa seem to try and ignore we exist....

Omonia did well this season didnt they? As I say, I dont follow it really, just get updates from my family every now and again. They're proper in to Limassol AEL. How old were you when you left Cyprus then?

it has been an ok season i suppose...started poorly, but finished second to apollon.... was in our own hands to win the double...but we flopped wen it mattered....i like AEL, a lot of my mates support them and they are the only true left wing team left with omonia.
i was 16 wen i left...lived there for 14 years..... moved to london to live at my aunts...in order to dodge national service....coz fuck spening two years of my life sitting under an olive tree smokin cheap fags to be honest..
do you get back to the island much? u speak the lingo?

Yeh I hear you. It's gutting when its your own team that messes up, rather than just another team deservedly pissing all over you.
Ha ha yeh theres a pretty big Greek Cypriot community in Manchester, and lots of the lads I know came over to skip national service lol.
I used to go back every summer for 6 weeks. Over the past couple of years I've always been back in the summer, but only for a couple of weeks. And damn straight I speak the lingo. My mum wouldnt have it any other day! I spent years sitting in class rooms on a Saturday morning being forced to learn Greek! lol.

Ha ha yeh, I've been there a few times! We tend just to stay around the house and drink (mmmmm Keo, how much do you miss the stuff??) and cook, but sometimes we go in to town. I spent my time mostly there, but we often go to Paphos and Famagusta too. I know a few families who are very anti English, which really pisses me off. The English schools are good enough, the English money is good enough from the millions of chippies they own... but the English boys/girls arent good enough for their kids. Dear dear

the whole anti-english thing is shown by what happened to my mate...his parents got divorced...his mum moved back to the uk....n his dad's family its like they have dis-owned my mate....
to be fair i dont like KEO...taste like piss....the local carslberg on the other hand, is fit for kings

Lol you work there? No way. You could have served me once or twice! You ever make it out to Ayia Napa?
You dont like Keo?? Fuck me, I think you must be the first Cypriot lad I've heard say that!
Yeh it's crazy how some Cypriots get over it. I've been out with a Cypriot girl, and I think I was JUST about acceptable because of my mum. Still, I do know plenty of families who are fine with their kids dating English people........ as long as they have a Greek wedding! lol.

Ha ha I know exactly what you mean Black and White is my favourite club there. We usually start our evening in the Bell Inn, which is just diagonal from Castle Club. I've spent a couple of nights/mornings at Insomnia, which is usually pretty messy! I dunno if you've been to Fig Tree bay whilst you're out there, but its well worth going to. So much nicer and quieter than Nissi beach.
