In my opinion the best solution would be to appoint a strong DoF above the managerial position regardless of Ole's results and let him sort out this problem. It would be his job after all. If he can work together with Ole and he decides that he is the man for the job I would be very happy. If he thinks he can work better with someone else and the club benefits from some other manager it would be good enough for me.no issues with most of your opinion, just the part in bold could pose a problem for most supporters, especially if Ole does well. I can understand that and I would be more than happy to watch Ole copy the reign of Sir Alex and be a successful manager at the club for 20-25 years. It's just not without risks. On the other hand one can argue that the appointing of a DoF can go wrong too. There are no guarantees either way.

Ole would be a dream long term appointment for the gimps for all the reasons I have previously said.
They probably have everything crossed he shines as a caretaker!

Marco Rose being heavily linked. He works with Paul Mitchell atm, who’s also heavily linked for our DoD role.

He's manager of Red Bull Salzburg, extremely attack minded coach. Also he's only 42 years of age but he definitely ticks all of the boxes.

I Ole is the front runner for the job because he already has the team performing at an acceptable level just needs to confirm his credentials in the bigger games and show that the current form isn't just a predictable bounce teams get after a new manager replaces an unpopular one. He gets the club and from the looks of things is certainly capable of implementing a positive style of football. His destiny is in his own hands.

The Telegraph say we think Poch may reject us, and so we are looking at Southgate.

Fuck me, this board haven't a clue have they? Making it up as they go along. This is our karma for 26 years of Fergie isn't it? If Poch rejects us ? I presume Southgate isn't our only plan B? I imagine the Old Trafford tea lady has more football nous than these knuckle dragging free loaders?
