Shame because his pass to start the move was excellent. Still think he's been really under utilised by both managers as a central midfielder. Not a starter but I certainly think he could've been a handy option if they took him seriously for that position. Aye, would've liked to see him tried there too. He's not a bad player and I really respect him for the way he played CB under Van Gaal. |

He's not a bad player and I really respect him for the way he played CB under Van Gaal. He's a handy player to have in the squad. He's got a good football brain, plays every position to a decent standard and I think in a season where Matic has played so much football and clearly struggled with fatigue at times, he could've come into the team and played that role adequately against lesser opposition. Obviously not so much the last few months due to injury. Not the kind of player that is going to damage us when he leaves but I would be happy to see him stay on as a squad player. |

Game ends. Three interviews talking about the penalty shout, pundits talking about it. Stone cold penalty at the weekend against Herrera does not get called, fucking crickets. Hated, adored...
Spin it any way you want, Bournemouth deserves nothing from that game.
Mourinho has a selection headache this weekend.

Our highest point and win total since Fergie retired was 70 and 20 before the season started. We now have 74 points with 23 wins with 4 games to go. Despite the disappointments, some good progress has been made.

Thought the majority of the players who came in did well.
Going to be interesting to see what kind of a team he picks for Saturday. I'd agree with Bestie, re- Mata, should be in the side, leaving him out of the squad completely just wasn't on, in my opinion.
Anyway, 3 points. Second place and Champions League football pretty much nailed down.

If Sanchez gets into the team ahead of Rashford after that then honestly Jose can bugger off. Not everything he tried came off but he was good, hungry and direct. Aurier has been fairly shite for Spurs so he can be targeted. I want Rashford to be the one doing the targeting.

I fully expect Mourinho to reward Rashford's determined and positive performance tonight with a spot on the bench on Saturday. I hope he proves me wrong but I have zero faith that he'll actually stick to his word.
As for Herrera starting, it shouldn't have needed his solid performance tonight. Just remembering the runaround they gave us back in January with our ill fated midfield 2 is enough to know Herrera has to start on Saturday.
I have more faith in Jose on that one though, surely even he's not enough of a dick to try 2 in midfield again or play Fellaini instead of him.... is he?
