I played football in my youth up until the younger lads could catch me up and kick me... Always keen on virtually any sport and had enough hand-eye coordination to be reasonably good at most of them but never excelled in any...played golf for few years and even won a trophy...still got my clubs but don't play these days... I decided one day to do a marathon so took up running...got into the London Marathon via a charity...did 4 Londons and then got together with another bunch of newbies to try to do an Ironman...managed that despite not having a bike and not being able to swim front crawl seven months before the event... Did a few half Ironman distances but the training is a real bitch...did my last half marathon last year on no training due to consistent little injuries...(not recommended)... My wife and I mostly do walking / hiking these days...we do a week over New Year in places like Brecon Beacons, Snowdonia and the Lakes... Next year, planning to do the Camino de Santiago...we're doing the Camino Frances, which is 500 miles... After that, we'll try some other long distance paths...probably!! You're the same age as TJ right? All people seem to do is worry about him dying because he's not been online for a few days and there you are fucking shit up worldwide Cheers Dek. Yeah, we are about the same age...but I think he has been through some tough times... I've always been active and don't plan slowing down any time soon... Always up for a challenge of some kind...

Speaking of scouts, cousin of mine has been scouted and been accepted into Southampton's academy so could be good things lined up for him. In the near future. Made his debut for u18's today and got on the scoresheet.

I still referee (football) in our Winter and kayak in the other seasons. My missus reckons I get well defined legs one half of the year and a better upper body during the rest. At my age I don’t do it to try to impress anyone with how I look, I had a health scare at 45 so need to keep fit and I drink far too much beer to not need to work it off!

Football, married and 28 years old means I’m only playing Sunday league type stuff these days. Played for school and local Polish club team for many years.
Play basketball and I’m pretty crafty on a pair of skis. Big mountain mostly did some minor freestyle stuff until I decided broken bones aren’t good for my sick time at work.
