Fair play to Smalling as well, you need a big performance if you’re unveiling that haircut. Looks like Seal off the Killer video imo. Absolutely killed me this has

Happy with the win. Not sure if progress or not.

I think Lukaku definitely gets into Chelsea’s side because Morata is shit. I also think he gets into Arsenal’s team, but with Auba rather than instead of him - both can play out wide at times.
Absolutely no way he gets into Spurs’ or City’s teams.
He doesn’t start for Liverpool as things stand because he’s deeply unsuited to what they do under Klopp, but he is good enough to get in that front 3 if we only talk about individual ability and not suitability to a team’s style.

I said top 6 team, but given even we ain't in it I can see where the confusion might've come in. Lukaku is more suited to our shit football, Aubameyang is a much better footballer. Like you said though, all about opinions 😉 On his day Auba is unplayable, the problem is he goes missing. Lukaku is inconsistent also but he at least works his arse off for the team. Will be interesting to see who is the better scorer after a couple years. On his day Aubameyang WAS unplayable. Problem for Arsenal was that those days were years ago with Dortmund. These days he is very playable, which is why Lukaku is the better option, in spite of his inconsistencies. When on his day, Lukaku is also unplayable, but like most strikers not named Ronaldo or Messi, his days don’t come by every day, so Lukaku > Aubameyang.

The real problem with Lukaku for me, and why I think he's not (yet?) the kind of striker that can win you a league, is that you just can't trust him to score when it really fucking matters. He's not the kind of striker that will score the one good chance you have on a bad day, you know? That one goal that can completely change the course of a game.
Our game vs Spurs is a good example of the difference between Lukaku and an actual world class striker. Lukaku misses a worldy, while Kane scores out of nowhere when we're in total control of the game, resulting in us losing our cool and them killing the game.

That's a good point about the scouse. Firmino really is nothing special but he's an integral part of a very impressive attacking unit and does a job that Lukaku wouldn't.
Like you say, if we're judging them on individual ability then Lukaku is definitely the much better striker of the 2 but he'd get absolutely nowhere near their current starting 11.

Anyway- I still think there are positive signs re our speed of play. It’s only coming in bursts at the moment but I think we have to give Carrick and McKenna credit. We probably also have to give them some more time.

We probably also have to give them some more time. despite the shacky start to the season,we somehow look more adventurous at times which is pleasing to see. yesterday after watford scored and started to put pressure at us we still throwed bodies forward, the team was looking for the third goal. only towards the end we sat back and tried to defend the lead. what i would like to see more though is a coolness factor when defending narrow leads. we often tend to lump it forward to lukaku or fellaini in these situations and giving the ball away too quickly. only matic looks a composed player, capable of slowing things down. i dont like the sideways and backward passing, but if there is a moment to do that it should be in the last 10-15mins of yesterdays game. tire them out,let them run, pass back to de gea and around the defence and midfield until an opportunity opens up. our players get way too nervous in those kind of situations.

‘Only three players have reached 20 goals in fewer Premier League games for #MUFC than Romelu Lukaku.’

Lukaku wouldn't be under as much scrutiny if other players shared the goalscoring load.
When was the last time Lingard, Mata, Sanchez, Rashford, Martial and Herrera scored?
I could add some more...

Sanchez hasn't scored an away goal for us yet and the last he scored was on 28th December.
I agree that others need to wade in on the goals more, especially Martial and Rashford...however they do need game time to do this, 10-20 mins here and there isn't enough.

Our finishing generally is poor. The Spurs game is a case in point. The Fa cup final is another.
