Why does the manager call the shots on giving players new deals now? United managers always have done. The club the will negotiate the wage but the manager will have input because they will say if they want the player or not and then they'll decide if that wage is worth it. I thought they were penny pinchers? This contradicts yourself. I'm sorry but I'm not having that, the manager is making decisions on player wages as well? Fuck me, I've heard it all now. I know it's late here but really. Of course they are fucking penny pinchers, that's why he is still in a job. Oh I'm sure they are masochists as well as being inept! 3 managers allowed to carry on despite everything falling to pieces around them, yeah it's tradition that we give our managers time to turn it around, then tradition dictates that they find our they have been sacked via the press/social media/whatever? 13 years on and there are still disciples who think all our problems start and end with the manager?

Not having it. He has a job to do. And is failing. His results are exactly what they are. Moyes levels of incompetence. And he is doing it with the worlds second largest wage bill. And significantly more talented players. He should have been fired ages ago. But that is no excuse for his ineptitude. So who is responsible for allowing us to chug on like this? I presume as well as sanctioning transfers/contract extensions he is also responsible for sacking himself as well? No wonder we are failing with all the responsibilities he has. It's so much clearer now. Ultimately it is Ed Woodward who shoulders the blame. Mourinho has become Moyes level of shite and Ed has not let him go. No argument from me on that. But to shift blame away from Mourinho for the mess he has made is not right. The man has the power to influence this squad. And he is not doing it well. I agree that United would be better off with new leadership. And I think Ed and Mourinho have both run their race. But to exonerate Mourinho from the mess he has made is not reasonable. Mourinho should go. Ed should go. And soon after the new football people are installed, a good portion of the squad needs to go as well. Not denying it. But make no mistake, the dross served up each and every week is down to Mourinho being a cunt. He is accountable for team morale and tactics. And right now, he is failing.

But the issue isn't where it's gone wrong but what the club are doing about it. In the past they have been fortunate that top 4 has been within reaching distance. This season we have 3 teams at least barely dropping points. Unless Chelsea start sliding down the table it's possibly top 4 as it stands. 3 scenarios here. The gimps have sounded out potential suitors and have been politely told to feck off with Zidane not wanting to touch us with a barge pole, Conte tied in to some weird severance clause by Chelsea - probably not allowed to join another club for 12 months or whatever! They are happy to ride ride out the storm regardless of how bad it gets, history tells us this may be a highly credible option. They are shitting themselves and don't know what to do next. *A combination of 3 is also highly possible.

It really does feel like a death watch now. I know you have to take the rough with the smooth but this takes the piss, it's the darkest I've ever witnessed the club (not just because its night time either). Proper fucks me off that the only people that seem to care are the supporters.

I somehow missed this during the game. What the fuck was McTomminay doing? He's even got us playing hide and seek now, Jesus. What an embarrassement.

You think that I think that the problems start and end woth the manager? Really? I was pointing out before you were ecen on here that upstairs was a big problem, that's why the hired Mourinho in the first place, because they don't know what thwy are doing. You are contradicting yourself because you call them penny pinchers while claiming they double lukaku's wages and beg him to stay. The decision on whether a player will stay will be down to the manager. If you can't grasp what I am saying because I'm not sayinh "hur derp gimps and pennypichers her derp must bring Glazers and Moyes into everything derp" then don't even bother replying.

We have the highest wage bill so we are hardly penny pinchers. In fact, we have been anything but penny pinchers until this past summer, where our CEO refuses to pay big money for a defender yet we still spoofed 50+mill on a CM lad we don't play.
The problem is the board can't differentiate between a player who is worth the outlay and a player who isn't. Hence why we need to restructure all across the club. Players, managing/coaching staff and executives. They all need to get booted.

I want a change like pretty much everyone else. I don’t hate Jose so I would love to see him succeed somewhere else. For one I don’t like to see an all time great reduced like he has been here but also it would also continue to highlight how inept Woodward is.

The difference between Moyes and Mourinho is that it wasn't a surprise that we were shite under Moyes, to watch this crap under Mourinho is unbelievable.

Looking back, since he left there he’s more or less had a slow decline with a couple of bright spots. He’s had more failed seasons than successful ones since he left Inter.

Agreed I wasn't expecting miracles under Mourinho more a short term fix, giving him an extension was a bad move.
