Castles spoke at length about Dalot during the summer. Said there was a strong belief among serious judges of players that he potentially would be the best young RB in Europe in a year or so. He reminds me of early Evra (right sided obv). A bit iffy at the back but always galloping forward. He will be amazing for us if he has luck with injuries. My gosh i just had a flash of paddy motoring down the left, he was such a player. Him and Cole (as much as i dislike the smug ...) were just in a league of their own as left backs

I’d start Valencia at Liverpool. Mane and Robertson on rhe left are pretty far from what Dalot has been dealing with here Dalot has put more quality balls in the box than Valencia has in the last 4 years. Absolutely. In fact he was MoTM. I’m afraid our RB next week will have to focus on defending more than on crossing. I feel this test would be a bit too early for Dalot

Didn't watch the game and I'm at cloud water brewery tap at the minute bits that's a great result no matter who we play. Also was Dalot as good as everybody is saying?

Hardly going to make us play any worse than we have been. Fingers crossed Shaw is fit again as well.

I thought rasher ran Dalot close for MotM. Shame there was no clean sheet. Never a pen.

Rasher had MOTM for me followed by Mata but Dalot should have had 3 assists if our lot were smarter

Valencia is way past his best and apart from being physically strong he offers nothing going forward.

Good to see a player coming into this side and showing some potential instead of mega money players going at it half arsed.

I can’t remember the last time we were a genuine threat down the right, Dalot brought balance to the team and was very refreshing.

It must be said how incredibly satisfying it is to see Rashford in form and starting. He has been fantastic this past few games. Long may it continue.

It would make this season hurt less if we find a way to fit both Rashford and Martial into the same lineup in an effective way. Those 2 have the potential to be on the higher tier of the world class category.

I must admit, I’ve been very nervous of the scouse game. We’ve had a pretty good record against them (mainly via Louis) ever since Moyes, one Europa game excepted. And perhaps we’ll have another game like the van Gaal 1-0 where we were dreadful but somehow won it.
But they’re good right now - not as good as their position suggests, but definitely better than us. I don’t think we’ll be able to target Alexander-Arnold so easily, he’ll have more protection. And Jose has never been anything but extremely defensive at Anfield.
This game has given me a slight glimmer of hope. Not sure if that’s a good thing!

Also, we better play a complete reserve XI against Valencia. No point playing anyone who will play on Sunday.
No doubt that’s why Jose said Pogba will play.
