Jose wouldn't have had us in a position where we sold all our strikers. He was lucky to get his chance! What strikers are you talking about? Welbeck Hernandez Van Persie We were left with Rooney and Martial (who could be argued is a winger). Both were injured which is why Rashford got his chance. Not some masterstroke by Van Gaal.

Not some masterstroke by Van Gaal. IIRC Rooney was not injured but left out of the Europa squad as a rest for the Arsenal game, then Martial pulled up in the warm up. Rooney was back vs. Arsenal but LVG felt he couldn't drop Rashford after his performance in Europe. That really was a stroke of luck for Marcus. I like to think he would have broken through anyway, but who knows. He may well have been a fair way behind in his development.

That's not how I remember it, Rooney would not have been dropped for Rashford. My captain shall always play. That's why he reinvented himself as a midfielder because Rashford then couldn't be justifyably dropped. He was either injured or suspended. I remember Martial being injured just before the game.

Hernandez maybe How you manage to use it to make a point in favour of Mourinho is just laughable though after 3 years of dross.

My point was that Van Gaal had sold all our strikers, whether Jimmy G thinks they were shit anyway is irrelevant. Can we expect you on here again tonight or does it depend which way the wind is blowing again?

Welbeck, under this manager would be playing every game... I had no problem selling Welbeck, it's the fact Van Gaal didn't have a replacement lined up.

Fair enough - I must be misremembering the Arsenal game. I remember thinking we were well and truly screwed that game. Same for the one when Martial made his debut. I think Rooney was injured /suspended for that. What great premier league debut games they turned out to be

Mourinho had said in an interview once that he'd have never sold Hernandez and Welbeck...

Mourinho had said in an interview once that he'd have never sold Hernandez and Welbeck... Imagine the uproar then of seeing Martial and Rash on the bench for Welbeck and Lukaku!
