I'm sure we coukd change his mind. What if the next manager wants his own staff? I always think keeping some backroom staff is the best thing to do. Like Moyes coming in and sacking off a title winning group for his own Everton men. If Poch comes in he should keep Phelan just to keep some consistency, as well as his own man. Otherwise it's a culture shock for both sides and we've seen how well that's gone previously. It also shows humility that he might need help with the bedding in period. |

The fact that Moyes was expected to keep some of the previous staff is a big fucking red flag for not giving him the job in the first place.

Call him romantic, call him old fashioned, but he thought his world class coaching set up would help a younger manager adjust to Manchester United. |
