Agree about Dalot starting from here on in. Certainly those types of games like yesterday. Maybe PSG away should be Young but Burnley at home next, Dalot should start. As previously mentioned, Castles (before returning to the dark side) said that most serious judges of young talent have him down as the best full back prospect under 21 in Europe. And again- he will be a better player than TAA. I’ve little doubt about that.

The one disappointment since Ole took over has been Lingard, a lot of running about for no end product. Lingard played better under Mourinho. I disagree tbh, I think Lingard doing the role he is doing has allowed pogba rashford and martial alot more freedom, you need that industry in the team and Lingard is perfect for that

Rashford is surely getting player of the year for us. what an incredible rise and he looks like hes getting better and better. loads of credit to Dalot for skinning his man in the build up too! think this is the first game I have seen cracks in Ole. I think he felt under pressure this game for the first time really. the sub should have been made earlier, we started to look slow and needed to freshen up. I felt this was a game for lukaku to come on and score and thought he should have came on for lingard about 60 minutes in. instead we waited and they struck back. we desperately need a big man at CB and a player who can calm everyone down and control the game through passing. If he carries on as he has he will get the PFA award unless a Scouse twat has to get it. Probably TAA or Robertson?

And that's exactly why Mata was brought on earlier than Lukaku. I'd hate to piss on the parade, but for all the praise Matic has been getting lately I think replacing him is a just as important as signing an experienced CB and sorting out RW. Ideally, I'd get two full backs as Dalot isn't ready as first choice and Shaw isn't fit/consistent enough.
Shaw has been the model of consistentcy this season, particularly under Ole. He was ill yesterday, which can happen to anyone. Left back isn’t a problem in any way shape or form. Shaw is the left back. Dalot will be be RB at the start of next summer. We don’t really need one (if TFM is kept) let alone 2. Waste of funds imo. Keep what cash we have for two outstanding players, genuine game changers at the 2 positions we have actual need in.
Shaw is quite good going forward, but I am still not convinced by his defending. The jury is still out as far as I'm concerned. Fingers are crossed regarding Dalot, but I reckon that boy from Palace would be a decent (and probably not too expensive) addition to provide competition for Dalot. Sadly, I don't think TFM has progressed as expected. Two unsuccessful loan spells at Palace and Fulham have not done him any favours. At Palace he was kept on the bench by that kid (with the impossible name I can't remember now).

In Rashford and Martial we have 2 of the biggest attacking talents in world football. We all knew it and now we're seeing it again. Agree. But also, Mbappe.

Depending on how quickly Greenwood comes on we might be selling Lukaku sooner rather than later.

mata cant control a game from CAM/RW. a CM to find the holes and pass constantly and take control of the game. we struggle to keep hold of the ball and keep it rotating between us, from side to side etc. we did it too much under LVG but the final 3rd of a game when your 2-0 that's exactly what you should be doing. we had chances in the second half and I feel lukaku would have kept us on the front foot as hes something else to worry about. lingard looked as if he was burning out. he missed a perfect chance at the back post

Mbappe's the best on what he's shown so far, definitely. I thought that they were all on a level playing field at one point but what he's done has been on another level compared to our 2.
Interesting to see how they all develop, along with the likes of Greenwood, Gomes and Chong you could say we have as talented a group of young attacking players as anyone.

He was done, as he was during the second half at spurs last weekend. Ole/Phelan's tactics seem to challenge his battery life. However, when we finally brought Lukaku on the ball started flying to his head from where it bounced aimlessly. Disappointing.
Edit: 3 points. Get in!

I love Matic's style of play, and Carrick before him. When our midfield has a calm anchor who can play a ball with either foot any direction any distance it makes the rest of the team click. Matic is coming up on his 2nd anniversary of signing for United (July 2017) and he will be 31 the month after. I think at the time he signed there was general agreement we would only get 2-3 years out of him and this looks the case. 100% agree finding a like for like replacement should be a top priority.

"either foot"? You mean Matic's left foot and the outside of his left foot?

Matic was awful for the first half of the season. Hes played well this past few weeks, but he has it in him to lose multiple unathletic opponents. I hope his form can continue but I can't imagine he will have many more years at the top level (unless he is Giggsy like yoga fiend)

A Matic replacement is important; now the attack is firing, it's probably second priority after a CB. Previously when I thought we needed a big-name attacker I thought we might have to soldier on for another year, but now hopefully not.
