I won't use it as any significant barometer for this season is my point. This season was fucked and it got unfucked. That's the positive to cling on to with this season. It's just been enjoyable and it won't become unenjoyable to me because we miss out on the top 4 trophy. We were still in 2 cups so the season really wasn’t fucked was it? I’m not sure if you can credit Jose for miraculously staying in the FA Cup seeing as though we get a bye into the 3rd round.

Ole came in in mid December though. We had 2 cups to play for regardless of our league form. The whole point of him coming in then was so we didn’t write the season off. Chelsea won the CL with a caretaker manager in a similar situation to ours.

No matter how many cups we were inevitably going to get knocked out of.

Our form was awful, we were playing like shite, our best players were preparing to be shipped out (Martial had said goodbye to his neighbours apparently) and there seemed little possibly of making top 4. Be under no illusion- what Ole has achieved so far is bordering on miraculous given the shit sandwich Jose had left behind.

i cant deny that i`m worried about tonights game. i will be in the city tonight, seeing my girl and some friends and will probably still watch the match on my phone. i know that we will drop points on our way its inevitable, but i`m just not confident for tonight. too many changes, too many players coming in. i dont expect an outstanding performance and i`d be happy with a hard fought win, own goal, deflection, whatever. that said, how awesome would it be if the players coming in perform to their best and we win this game comfortably. nervous as fuck though but there are positives aswell. at least we still have our solid back 4 that managed to keep 4 clean sheets in the last 5 games. if palace doesnt score i hope one of our forwards or pogba can create something and win it for us.
ole`s at the wheel! palace 0 - united 1 (lukaku 84th minute)

Everybody had written off the European Cup as soon as the draw was made. We hadn't even had the chance to be knocked out of the FA Cup by the time Jose finally got the bullet. Come on.

This was going to be tricky with a full side.

Things had got so bad even they couldn’t allow it to continue. Had it been later on in the season I would agree.

Klopp was hired in October and got to 2 finals. What’s the difference?

In fact a lot of United fans had written off the European Cup before the draw was made! We were never winning it.

It's going to be immensely difficult and I don't think we'll do it but I have hope we could actually turn it around in Paris. Not a fucking chance I'd have felt that way if Jose was in charge and we were in the same position.
Without being overdramatic, Ole hasn't just rescued the season on the pitch, he's rescued the sanity of United fans across the globe. We have hope and are genuinely enjoying and looking forward to watching our club again. I don't think you can underestimate how much that means.

we have to get at least a point here. arsenal are above us and have an easy game tonight. we need to draw tonight and them to get beat on Saturday for us to keep in contention with top 4

We could also use a Spurs win. Apart from bragging rights and some prize money there’s no real difference between 3rd and 4th so the Rents continuing to nosedive is my preferred outcome. And maybe we catch Spurs later anyway.
