said it before the game what will kill us is our inability to score from a couple of chances and them to score one of the only chances they get from bad defending. ive never seen a worse performance from a full back than Young in this game. he shouldn't start another game again. I have a glimmer of hope for next game we have to go all out attack. Lingard Rashford martial as the front 3 with pogba just behind. . Lingard has been poor for quite some time. Another who needs phasing out! His good performances in Jose’s second season have long been forgotten about!

^ spot on it pisses me off that many have accepted that our standards have not just dropped off they have plummeted. 11 years ago Barcelona came to Old Trafford. We played fairly defensively in both legs, no denying that, but we were fairly comfortable, won the tie, and also missed the best chance of the tie with Ronaldo's penalty in the first leg. We sat deep and countered, but we weren't afraid of Barcelona, and were better than them overall. They have gotten worse since their peak of a decade ago, but they're still a top team that wins leagues and challenges for the Champions League. We have fallen so incredibly far that many were happy with a 1-0 loss at home because it wasn't a shellacking. It's one of the starkest reminders of how far we have fallen under the stewardship of Woodward. 2 years before he became CEO we faced Barca in the final, and had already fallen from our 2008 peak, but we were still the best side in England and probably the third or fourth best in Europe. In 2013 we had again fallen a little further, but the right manager to replace Fergie and a decent amount of spending could have quickly had us back at 2011 levels, before getting to 2008 levels a few years after that. If it wasn't for that shit referee Cunyet, we would have probably had a CL quarter final vs. Lyon (I think?), and then likely made the semis. When you live through it, with all the hope followed by disappointment, it's hard to really appreciate just how far we have fallen, particularly because occasionally we still buy a big name player or pull off a great win. But when you step back, it's astounding how far we have regressed. Barcelona have fallen from their peak, we've crashed out of orbit altogether.

Whilst the main thrust of that article is spot on, it is clearly not the best United. We have played with much more authority in attack this season than this game would have you believe. Rashford and Lukaku were both very poor, so was Young but that seems to be the de facto state now anyway. If Rashford and Martial can get it together like they have done then this is an altogether different game. Barca were no great shakes defensively and we failed to capitalise on it last night, but we do have the capability.

I would buy a first class striker.
I couldn’t care less whose toes this treads on. Fight for your place! That goes for players in other positions too. We are allowing players to get far too comfortable. 300 grand for Rashford ffs! Needs to earn it first!

We were very poor last night. McT did ok,saw nothing from anyone else to suggest that the only positive from the night was Barca are not side they were.

OGS needs to tell him that he ain't Ronaldo & never will be,possibly Ashley Young aside,he is our most wasteful player.

Just a reminder that this happened right under the assistants nose; The referee not buying it affected us more as Young stayed on the pitch

He is but my point was aimed at those who think Rashford is good enough to lead the line and that selling him was the best idea! All 4 of Lukaku, Rashford, Martial and Lingard are inconsistent and don't score enough goals. Only 2 could be argued to be true strikers. In 99 we had 4.
