We've lost four of our past five matches. #oleout If he doesn’t get a good summer of transfers he might be in around 12 months! This squad is rank! They are now playing at the level they are. Appointing him so early was silly! We are going to have to have one of our best summers to sort it out , all with no CL because I think we are going to miss out!

Barcelona like all really good teams have lesser games but still do enough. It wasn't a vintage performance by them. It was similar in that last round when Lyon held them scoreless in their first leg then got beaten 5-1
The posts saying we bossed them in midfield is total fan bullshit too. McT had a good game and Fred had space to pass the ball around without doing much. 3 times he gave the ball away with awful passes under no pressure and 1 decent through ball to Martial or Rashford can't remember. Pogba was mostly quiet
In the first 1/2 hour we had 11% possession and they scored. The one area we had space in the second half in particular was wide and mostly on the right against a side that are very weak in defending their box against crosses, but we did nothing( Thanks Young and bizarre decision to play Dalot on the left, where we did nothing!
It's not a glorious 0-1 defeat. It was another worrying toothless display at home, with too many players regular in that team who are nowhere near good enough, being paid twice/three times what they are worth at lower league clubs

You were saying recently we couldn't possibly sell Lukaku because he's our top goalscorer ... He is but my point was aimed at those who think Rashford is good enough to lead the line and that selling him was the best idea! All 4 of Lukaku, Rashford, Martial and Lingard are inconsistent and don't score enough goals. Only 2 could be argued to be true strikers. In 99 we had 4. No, your point was we couldn't sell Lukaku because he was our top goalscorer, we were okay for goals, and other areas needed strengthening. Someone said sell him and you said we can't/shouldn't. If ddg wants to leave this summer then make sure we get courtois for him, if pogba wants to go make sure we get a fucking shit load of cash for him and get that invested properly. Smalling Jones Bailey Young valencia can all leave from the back. Mata to go and ander if he's already signed with psg, Sell lukaku never will be good enough for us. That's a hell of a lot of players who just ain't up to scratch and a load we need to replace, it's a massive job on ole's head this and with out the backing of the board this is the shit we are going to see week in week out. You can’t get rid of Lukaku he’s our top scorer for starters. The one area we aren’t too bad with is scoring! Buy a RW, another FB, CB and CM. Those are essential to even compete for top 4! So what. He misses chances in every game we don't win. Big chances. Game-changing chances. He ain't good enough and big clubs upgrade their top goalscorers if their top goalscorers are nonetheless quite shit.

I would buy a first class striker. I couldn’t care less whose toes this treads on. Fight for your place! That goes for players in other positions too. We are allowing players to get far too comfortable. 300 grand for Rashford ffs! Needs to earn it first! Icardi is the best available striker in world football right now, because he wants out. We should be doing some aggressive shit with Sanchez and Lukaku and getting him. We don't have a single player in the top 10 PL goal scorers. Lots of, either pace, power and skill, but weak finishers. The dip in form from Pogba, our second highest goal scorer has cost us big time because nobody else has stepped up The last time we won the PL was when we brought in a world class striker. Icardi is also a really good footballer and works the defenders unlike Lukaku.

But whatever we do in the transfer market this summer we need a RB, CB and a CM all of the highest calibre as a priority.

This is from the Independent, on Fred and Scott. I liked it a lot:
‘If McTominay and Fred at the Parc des Princes was a low-budget, feel-good buddy flick turned unlikely box-office success, last night against Barcelona came the sequel: rushed out the gate, a little rougher around the edges but still an immensely enjoyable romp.
Fred was the straight man: taking more touches, making more passes, recovering possession more often than any other player on the park. That left McTominay with all the best lines, earning the acclaim and attention.’

Our 3 are inconsistent! All score more consistently than our 3. Having a non existent right wing also handicaps us and leaves our left side easy to mark! Look at what happened in the PSG game when we got injuries to Martial and co! I think we have been sussed out! Deal with the left side and we offer very little threat from elsewhere! A RW and a RB is as important as a CB imo.

He is our top goal scorer though and he was a damn sight better than Rashford last night! So we sell both then! Sell Rashford? Christ. No let’s sell our top goal scorer instead? People happy with that quite clearly? Here’s an idea , instead of scapegoating one of them let’s accept that all 3 don’t score enough and are inconsistent Rashford included who for some reason seems to get a free ride!
