Ole shouldn't be the manager. Everyone knows it but nobody will admit it. A less reactionary board would have waited to see the season concluded. Reality is there was absolutely no pressure on them to make the call when they did and they pulled off yet another masterstroke at taking something good and turning it to shit. So yeah, Ole shouldn't be our manager, but he is, and it doesn't matter, because no manager could succeed here right now. I stick with what I said on Ole's thread - at least with him we have a person in charge who knows what a proper United team should look like. Might as well have him help steady the ship.

The bigger problem is who will want to come here and play under Ole, shocking end to the season and he’s unproven, he could potentially attract some very good up and coming younger players but established better players will think twice. Plus the wankers that have been given new contracts won’t fill anyone with enthusiasm. We are fucked as things stand. I'd agree with some of that. We've gone and given the chuckle brothers and Young new contracts, so we've shot ourselves in the foot 3 times there. I was hoping that we could get rid of Sanchez, Rojo and Darmian for starters but it's going to be incredibly difficult to get their hands off their contracts. With Alexis, just get him out the door, even if it means subsiding part of his wages for a certain period. Just get him out of the building and at another club if possible. Ole's got a mammoth task.

At least give him a window or two to correct shit, Christ. The issues are the players, everyone can see that. Give him a chance ffs. We're all gonna support him and call out Ed etc. if he pulls his usual shit. Just saying that we went too early on offering him the job, and that it's been very, very bad since he got it. If he were still caretaker now we could take stock and appoint him or someone else by mid-June, which is still plenty of time to sort a transfer window (especially if we had a real DoF!).

He will be lucky to get a second window with our current form. 8 losses 2 wins 2 draws. It wont be his fault, but he will need years to get this squad right. Problem is unless we stick with one and see it through it'll be rebuild after rebuild. He may not be the right choice but he might be. At least give the guy a chance. He's had very little chance to impact that squad. We all know what they issues are, the manager isn't one of then. Don't fix what isn't broke. Fix the things that are hemorrhaging from the club...the players and their shite attitude.

Agree on the appointment, it should have been done at the end of the season but its done now. We've just gotta roll with it and see how he gets on, he'll get my support anyway. Fingers crossed this is where the rebuild starts and its not another waste of 2 or 3 years before somebody else comes in to start all over again.

I'd agree with Paul, you have to give him the transfer windows to bring in his players.

Tasty Europa League qualifier in Azerbaijan coming up mid-summer. Better get those ties in Asia out of the way before the league starts

My mate just texted me, there's some footage of players saying goodbye to Valencia on United's social media accounts, large chunks of empty seats at Old Trafford.
I'm heading over to Facebook to have a look.

I want to give Ole a fair shot I'm just worried that the board will panic if we are sitting in bottom half of table

Tony and Young are similar IMO - both good servants who worked hard but are just well past it. The difference is a) Tony was better at his best, and b) his decline has been more off the pitch, whereas Young's played throughout his. But Tony is nowhere near the standard required anymore sadly.

Yet there is no evidence to suggest he is going to steady any ship. 8 defeats in 12.
