Love that Becks had that at the end. He loved every second of it in front of the Stretty.

Lingard had a purple patch during Jose’s second season and has contributed to some important goals.
However he’s still not good enough for where we want to be.

Beckham is a legend. Lingard a valuable member of the squad, who has been instrumental in winning the few trophies that we have won since Fergie left. Both made themselves look like clowns off the pitch but never gave less than 100% while on it. You've been watching a different Lingard to the rest of us this season then. Big difference between giving 100% and delivering on it. He hasn't improved and won't improve to level we should expect. Again one is a united great, one just isn't good enough. He had a below par season, there is no doubt. Overall, his record for us is still better than a goal in 6 which for a player in his position is not bad in terms of delivery.

Lingard is a substandard player who wouldn't make it to the bench on most/any of Fergie's United teams. On top of that, he's a tool and for reasons that are above my comprehension is a 'leader' in our current dressing room.

Jesper Blomquist scored once in 38 appearances for United during the most successful season in the club history playing with club legends in every other position. Fergie would have kept Lingard if it was purely for his contribution on the pitch.

He gets away with it though because he’s 10 times the player Lingard is. That's a conservative number.

The thing with Beckham is that he wasnt doing it for attention or a quick payday like our lot. He was building a brand and i know fergie had his issues with that but you can’t really question the results can you? Even his MLS move was massively calculated resulting in him being a star in the US and now owning a team. If anything is underrated about Beckham it’s how shrewd he is.
