I genuinely can’t remember a opening game feeling so important. Sounds dramatic but i genuinely think this game could make of break the next couple of months. We desperately need to set a high tempo and get some confidence. 100% If we do well, I think A LOT of people will have a sigh of relief and it might even be the start of a surprisingly positive couple of months. If we don't, I believe it will turn ugly very quickly and we don't have enough solid characters in our dressing room to deal with that sort of negativity. Hopefully, Ole's first full season in charge starts the same way his interim reign started, with everyone playing with passion and pride and we use this game as a statement of intent. Could a be huge thing that we are playing Chelsea, because if we manage to beat them convincingly (even 2:0 could be convincing), no one would spin it off as "Well, it's a team that is going to fight against relegation anyway." |
