Dalot, Fred and Gomes on the bench instead of Young, Matic and Mata and it wouldn't look half as bad IMO. Would be a very young bench but plenty of potential.

Lineup as expected. Midfield is weak. McTominay is going to have to play a blinder today (and every game this season TBH). Is Lingard #10 behind 2 strikers or wide, and if so who’s central up top? I’d suspect it’ll be a fluid front three with a high press. There’s a lot of running in that front six*. *insert Pogba/Martial caveat here. |

Average age of the starting 11 is 23.7. For a couple of seasons people have been asking for a more youthful, energetic lineup and we've finally got it.
I'm actually quite excited for this season to see how we get on, I really hope that the work in pre-season pays off.

Ole really positive about Pereira. He's showing huge faith in him today. I know some aren't too keen but I think he could become very good for us. Hopefully he takes his chance today and kicks on for the rest of the season. He could be a real goal threat from midfield if he can play well enough to hold down a starting place.
