Any free agent midfielders these days? Can Garner be any worse than what we are seeing in midfield?

The really scary thing is, if we use the Scouse fallen empire template, we’re only in 96-97 now.

Mata isnt going to change games now, Sanchez must be completely hopeless in training to not even make the match day squad. Lingard is completely hopeless in actual matches and gets to start every week. As I said, if he's on the team sheet next game, I'll start the fuck off Ole chants myself.

It's going to get worse. I thought we may get a good run and get to that 5 game period after Oct 19 where we are playing mostly the lower level teams and promoted sides, but that just got shot to pieces. A couple of injuries and tiredness late on is inevitable in such a light squad, so don't see us doing much this year!
There is no change in tactics or style, just a tweak in personnel and we are much weaker than last year believe it or not. It can't all be about pace and playing on the break, but having said that we are unlucky with the penalties etc. The problem is there is no control and not enough creativity anywhere apart from Pogba, who has to have experienced players next to him and one top level DM.
We are still easy to get at despite spending 130M on the defence, because the MF is so shit and 3 forwards that need to be excellent tracking back too, if we play like that! We are so vulnerable

I think we’re ok on that score. Not many of the deals are performance related (adidas will have to pay us less next year if/when we miss out on top 4) so the money should continue to roll in. Easy for me to say as a non-match goer but the vampires and Woodward need to start hearing it from now on. It’s not going to affect the team as we’re shite anyway.

I’m very happy I missed this for my son’s own football game. He’s turning 5 and I’m relatively confident that he’s a more composed and smarter footballer than Lingard.

That was as poor as I can remember. They showed no heart or commitment during the entire game. We don't attack, we counter attack. This shit needs to stop. Our game plan is completely arse about face and its not working.
Lingard should be done, he offers nothing and is taking up a space in that side that Pereira should taking.
Lindelof was at fault for the first but he should have had cover by him, Dave could have come out as well and closed him down.
2nd goal was mainly down to Pogba pissing about. Dave should have done better with that aswell.
Not once during the rest of this season am I going to go into a game expecting us to win comfortably.
We lost to fucking Crystal Palace at home for the first time. Haven't even brought myself to listen to Ole because I'll just get more wound up. Fucked off enough as it is.
We have Tuanzebe on the bench and yet we bring Young on. Our tactics are fucking atrocious.
Only positive for me was a lovely finish from James.

Also although he wasn't the reason we lost, he didn't help. Tierney can get fucked aswell.
Palace should have been down to 10, even should have had another penalty. Countless decisions went against us when they shouldn't have. Booking James for a clear foul aswell hit the nail on the head.

For all his faults, Jose has only truly failed at one club, and that’s Utd. Some of it was self-inflicted last summer but the warning signs were there. And Van Gaal, whohad even more faults, has been putting the boot in to Woodward and Utd but didn’t get the coverage it deserved. I do think given the smallness of the very top managers circle, that word must be getting out about just how badly run Utd are as a club. I’d be amazed if any of the really top managers out there are even remotely interested in us under the current owners. FSG took their time at Liverpool but if you looked at their other team, the Red Sox, they are owners who actually want to win. The Glazers never have, the Bucs are a train wreck season after season. And in the American sports world, which has parity and the ability to literally go from first to worst in a year or two, to be that bad consistently is some achievement.
This is what we’re seeing at Utd now.

Will probably regret asking this but did anybody see Ole's interview after the game?
