Agree to disagree re: xG. I think it’s useful as one of several statistics, particularly when looking at a wider area (e.g. if Aguero scores 2 but should have had 3 in one game I don’t need an xG of 2.7 to tell me that if I watched, but the xG of a player, whole team or several teams across a long time period can provide insights IMO).

what a stupid stat. It gets better: Sergio Aguero has netted six goals against his projected 3.11

If there wasn't enough evidence of how far we have fallen already there is talk about lingard getting the number 7 shirt. Jesus wept

Mind you. This one doesn't bode well Marcus Rashford Three goals from open play in his last 21 Manchester United matches. With Anthony Martial injured, the onus is on Rashford to score regularly. But while he had a wonderful two-month stretch between December 2018 and February when he scored eight goals in 13 matches, either side of that Rashford has scored 11 goals in 72 Manchester United games. That must improve if United are to reach the top four. I keep saying, he's not a central striker. It doesn't matter his return is still poor and sometimes his touch in transition is poor too! When you say he is a winger what do you mean? Like Mane, Sala, Sterling, Ribery, Robben He's part of a front three now, not a traditional winger and he should be doing better than this

Lingard can want to have the shirt all he likes. It’s if we actually might give it to him, which hopefully we have no interest in.

Wan Bissaka has a back injury and has withdrawn from the England squad. It doesn't say how serious it is, but for a young player to withdraw from his first cal up, I'd say it was a big call..
If he's out we have no specialist full backs now

If he's a specialist why is Young playing ahead of him ? He is a specialist right back. He’s been played on the wing before, but he’s definitely a right back. Whether he’s been injured or Ole just doesn’t fancy him I don’t know.
