I am from Jersey about 30 mins from Philly and 2 hours from NY JCL= Johnny come lately OOT- out of towner I was at Nevada smith this year for the dipper match ...i had an amazing time one of the best sing a songs i have had ! ;D |

I went to nevada smith during my visit to New York three years ago. It was the night before we destroyed Juve 4 - 1 @ the Giants stadium. Got photo taken with Paddy Crerand as well, so all in all a bloody good trip!

it certainly is mate ( great place ). When I booked my trip to New York I didn't even know the place existed.
A girl who I used to live next door to moved to NY a few years back. My parents were talking to her dad and told him about me going over for the Utd match. He suggested I get in touch so I emailed her. Lucky I did as it was uncertain if we would get tickets due to the incredible demand. She said she would get me two just in case. As it turned out the original four of us on the trip got our tickets, however amother mate booked late and so needed one of what were now my spare two.
When we got to New York we went out and got ratted the first night in true red style singing 'when Johnny goes marchin down the wing' at full voice in every ale house in town. As this was the song of popular choice at the time. Man did we get some funny reactions from the locals wondering what the fook we were on about. anyhow thats a different tale for another time.
The second night after I'd rang my old friend to arrange a meet up, to collect the tickets and chat about how things are, we did so at nevadas. When she suggested it, none of us had ever heard of it, and were just slighty scepticle of a Utd bar in the middle of New York.
How wrong were we, from the moment we enterred we loved it, and to share a pint with Paddy Crerand made it a truly memorable experience. Will definately be paying a return visit one day!

Glad to hear that you've all heard of Nevada Smith's!! I've been going there for years and the atmosphere is great...we sing and drink pints throughout the matches, and yes it's owned by ex pats. The past couple of years there've been other supporter groups making Nevada's their spot as well, but it's great to have another group to out sing! Especially the NY Blues...Chelsea "supporters" that came out of the wood work once they won the prem...grrrr.

Certainly was mate. totally surreal as well to be walking around the worlds biggest city on the day of the game, and theres a united shirt every time i turn round ;D talk about taking over ;D |
