No he didn’t. He played well the whole game, nothing to do with systems being changed. I didn't say he didn't play well, I said he improved. Both midfielders had a good game. Just thought Fred stood out more further into the game. You said take him off for Garner at the time. At a time when he was having a really good game.

3/3 on the road when we were told elsewhere that we would lose every one. Great result, great winner and can Williams now be our starting left back? Agreed. Given the pressure they put him under in the 2nd half he looked a natural. Hoping for big thing from this lad and could mean not having to spend a ridiculous amount on a replacement for Shaw. Very impressive.

At a time when he was having a really good game. I didn't say take him off because he wasn't playing well though did I? Was a period in the 2nd half where I thought he looked leggy. Turned out he didn't and kept it going. As I've said he played well, I'm sure the Fred naysayers will will think of something though.

he was great last season but this season he has been sensational. Maybe Jose did see something after all ? aye. i wasnt convinced at the time he said that. but he only improved as soon as he started playing regularly. and especially since pogba got injured, mctominay has been so consistent and hard working. also shows lots of signs of being an actual leader, yelling at players and giving out instructions. love that kid, no doubt our best midfielder at the moment.

Even though it was an unsatisfactory 1-1 draw, I really do believe that draw with the scousers provided a positive springboard for this team to build on.

So McTominay isn’t so bad after all ? he was great last season but this season he has been sensational. Seen a lot of united supporters writing this lad off. I've seen no evidence over the last 12 months to suggest why or even proof to back people's claims he's not good enough because he clearly is. He's improving all the time. Tonight showed just how good he is. Picked up an early yellow and still battled in the middle to win the ball when some would ease off and being cautious. Probably as close to captain material as well currently have right now. Gives 100% all the time.

I think Jose likes players who give their all and fight for the team. I think he must have seen that in him. Obviously he’s developed considerably since then.

what i like most about marcus is his mentality. he can go through bad patches, missing penalties, shooting free kicks out of the stadium, out of confidence or not winning a bloody dribble for a while. yet he just keeps going and tries again and again and again until eventually everything comes good again and he takes responsibility in the biggest games.
