Strap yourself in. 2 United players miss. Incoming blame. Again. 100% on the manager, not that anyone will bother fronting up about it. No doubt. Negative cunt. Took the lead and did fuck all after

He really is Gareth Solskjaergate isn't he?
Even his subs are the same. Shite, and pointless. Italy, just like Villareal, made sensible changes throughout. England, just like United, made pointless and wasteful subs.
Stones and Sterling should hang their heads in shame, the experience they both have and they let a teenager go up before them. Bottling twats.
As a little nothing aside, how good was Maguire's pen? Fair play for that, unsaveable.

Yeah. Totally on Southgate. On paper had the better team but let Italy play to their strengths after taking the lead and didn't have a clue how to get back into the game and got the substitutions wrong. And the last thing you want to do is go into a penalty shootout against a big frame keeper like Donnarumma.
Also in a penalty shootout in a big final it is about temperament more than anything else. Rashford has been out of sorts the last few months suffering from burnout as well as injury issues and having little involvement in the competition and then being only brought on in the dying minutes of the game then expected to take a crucial penalty is a lot of pressure.
Saka I suspect took it because someone else (probably Sterling) wimped out. But I'd have much preferred Grealish or Shaw who would have definitely taken one if asked to do so.

Sorry but on paper Italy are ten times the side England are.

That's the last we'll hear from fans of convenience for another 12 months anyway. Amount of whoppers who don't watch a game until they jump on the England bandwagon every couple of summers have been as infuriating as ever the last few weeks.

On the plus side it is starting to feel like the world is finally going back to normal. England getting outplayed by a team that is much better than them on the ball and then losing on penalties is very much the status quo.
As a side note Shaw is one of the few players on the pitch who's already scored a penalty in a final so crazy that he wasn't on of the five to take penalties. Especially as throughout this tournament he has proven he is a big game player.

That's the little bit of schadenfreude I'm taking from it. I've had to stop checking facebook or looking at any of the papers websites. The endless "It's coming home" shite has wound me up no end. The amount of female friends I have who have all posted non stop shite about England and it's coming home, and everyone one of them going on about Grealish, because "he's lush". Just, fuck off.

It’s no one’s fault. This nation has a complex over international football that was simply too much for penalties. At least three players missing means there’s no individual scapegoat, even if it hurts that two were United lads. They’ll bounce back.

Alan Shearer knows a thing or two about scoring penalties and agreed it was v unfair on Rashers and Sancho.
"It's a big ask to put two players on with a few minutes to go and ask them to take penalties. It's big pressure when they've not kicked a ball. It's a big ask. Mentally you have to get yourself right. You've not kicked a ball for a few hours."

Thought I'd check Facebook to see the reaction and literally one of the very first posts that comes up:
Wants to stick to playing football instead of trying to feed people that cunt
Wonderful. That's me straight back off it.

Know this is the unpopular opinion, but as long as they don’t get in the way, I don’t mind the fair weather fans. Fuck it, let them have fun. I know I’m a bigger fan, it means more to me, but the more the merrier right? Hopefully a few realise how great football really is and become bigger fans.
