I’m trying not to be negative but it’s hard not to feel like that’s another fuck you to the fans.

I hope Shaw is back. Williams is a game youngster but we lose an awful lot when Shaw is out. He dovetails well with Rashford. He’s actually done alright on the left of a back three this season as well, which could’ve been a factor today.

The whole team were shite, but this is on De Gea. Its time for him to be dropped, but he's just signed a contract. How do you put him on the bench. We have the best paid keeper in the World, but he's nowhere near the best in the World. We have the most expensive defender in the world, but he's nowhere near the best in the world. I like Luke Shaw, but isn't he the worlds best paid left back, when he's nowhere near the best in the World? Shambles. It's hard to be too hard on them. First defeat in 19, but if we don't get top 4 or win the Europa, there will be BIG trouble. They will bin Ole, while these players not justifying their wage will carry on regardless. They fucking better do something. Re Luke Shaw, Ian Wright said something the other day which chimed, in that ,he thought that Shaw had a couple of extra gears(or something like) but never uses them. Either that, or he’s a lazy fucker who coasts

Phil Neville thinks De Gea was at fault for Maguire’s o.g. I didn't think so, but I'm not subjecting myself to a rewatch to confirm anytime soon. Phil Neville said he thought Dave was too far over in middle of the goal, so he should have move over to his right quicker to save it, in his opinion. He said if he was Maguire he’d be expecting his keeper to react quicker and save it. Looking at it again he probably has a point.

If I was the keeper I’d be expecting Maguire to have a brain somewhere in that massive bonce. I did think Dave was shit for all three goals though having said that.

Jury is out with Maguire. He's impro Ed us st the back but makes so many fucking mistakes, especially since the restart. Today was just down to basics. Couldn't even string simple passes together ffs. I wouldn't sell him, but I'd buy a CB to take one spot and leave him, Tuanzabe and Lindelof fighting for the other. I'd guess that Lindelof would win that battle, he has a higher ceiling IMO, and once Tuanzabe grows he's probably ahead of Maguire too. I'd also take the captaincy off him. Probably give it to Bruno. The team is a shambles defensively to begin with but Maguire is good example of the over inflated transfer market and stupidity that exists among those who buy the players at the club. He has few qualities a first choice defender playing in a winning side needs. Hes not very mobile and technically inept at times. There were ocassions today when he had a clear pass into midfield but on most ocassions he hesitated and he simply got rid of it or passed it to De Gea. Im not optimistic because he will have to improve alot to be a real player. People who say he needs a WC player alongside him are missing the point. Rio or Vidic never carried each other.

Well that was Tom-tit. Awful way to start a working week. Small mercies, at least Leicester lost (badly).

I’m trying not to be negative but it’s hard not to feel like that’s another fuck you to the fans. I don’t think so. The change in formation was an unnecessary disaster coupled with Dave going full Taibi meant we were fucked. We can all say ‘ let’s pick our strongest team and go for it!’ but this isn’t the 90s. He had to make at least a couple of changes, because Bruno, Rashford and the like are running on fumes. The likes of James and Lingard are nowhere good enough, Mata isn’t anymore either. The squad has been terribly mis-managed by that utter buffoon Woodward, paying astronomical wages to has beens like Sanchez. Jose said as much during his tenure, when he wanted to change things, he looked around and there was no Nani, no Hernandez etc We have shown some progress as a club but we have a massive job on to improve the squad.

Agree with all of this, bar the comment about the 90s, where I don't think the standard was any lower than today (at least with the top teams).

Games like this prove we need more than the 2 or 3 signings we think we need. We have a very good first XI. Which is proving to be costly now as starting them every game is stating take its toll.
9 games in one month most of these have started. Its got me worried about the rest of the Europa league aswell. Luckily we can afford to rest as many as we want against LASK but after then we need a serious rethink if we want to win it. Im glad there aren't two legs or we would be fucked well and truly.

You tended to see less squad rotation back then, although a few of the bigger sides were able to do it. But the difference in the options Fergie had back then and the dross Ole has now is huge. Ole himself, Sheringham, Butt, Berg, Blomquist. Even that tool David May had his uses. Ole has flaws, has made a few mistakes but some of this stuff is out of his control. He watched Fergie masterfully rotate his teams in run-ins. I’m sure Ole wants to do something similar but can’t. He can’t start James again after tonight. Lingard wasn’t even on the bench. His hands are tied really and I think he deserves sympathy.
