hes ok but shouldn’t be anywhere near a top side He'd have improved any side in the league before lockdown. Not been at it since but in fairness to him I think this is only the third game he's started since March. He might have to play a bit of a different role next season, but you'd hope he'll get chances to show his talents, especially given Matic has mostly returned to his pre-Christmas form.

If James didn’t have pace I doubt he’d make it as a professional footballer Remember when Usain Bolt said he seriously thought he could play for us? James reminds me of that, but I reckon Bolt would be better in the air.

What worries me is how dreadfully some of our attacks have fizzled out. We've had at least three where we've outnumbered them that should have resulted in excellent chances, yet none have.

I might genuinely have to turn this off. Getting really frustrated at how shite we are. How can we be so completely inept with zero pressure to get a result against totally mediocre opposition. You'd think these players would be doing all they can to impress. They SHOULD be playing for their United futures, but they won't be. They'll all be safe.

There were reports that various scouts couldn’t believe we were in for him, that he was nowhere near the level required. In fairness, I didn't think it was a bad gamble. £15m is nothing these days, and in his first month or two he looked like he had a lot of potential. Until lockdown he was playing too much for his age (Greenwood is a glorious exception), next season when he's hopefully 4th choice for the wing roles he'll have more room to improve without the pressure. That said, he's shown very little since the Autumn. Right now he's absolutely miles off the pace, and I fear that what he needs to improve on is the kind of things you can't really teach.

Some people might say I'm massively over-reacting, the tie is already done, but I am utterly disgusted. Sat here in a more and more stinking mood. We might as well have not bothered showing up if we were just going to go through the motions like this. Or played the U18s. Or the women's team - at least they would have tried to play some decent football. Where is the professional pride in performance when the result is safe? Where is the desire to go and make a defining impact when the only thing left to play for is not just showing up. That first half has been utterly, utterly pathetic.

Not sure if why we couldn’t play more kids. Levitt, Chong, Mengi for example. At least they would’ve added an element of excitement to this game.

Just got in the house. I’m sensing I’d shouldn’t even bother?

Can't understand why the fuck aren't the likes of Garner/Chong/Mengi playing? Perfect opportunity to give them some game time and no real excuse not to.

James' final ball is fucking terrible. Even though he looked offside then, he should of had his head up before the ball even got to him so he could play it first time.
I'd loan him out next season personally. Nowhere near the level required currently.
