The 2018 thread is here. The top prediction was first; we finished sixth. No one clicked sixth in the poll, though points to Chris for saying '6th, 7th, 8th... no chance of top 4.' The 2019 thread is here. The joint top predictions were fifth and below eighth; we finished third. Six people clicked third in the poll, with GeniusCantona, Pixel, RAZ and Ole's Red Whiteknight03 Army all getting full marks for mentioning third in their posts. Chris didn't replicate his previous correct call, though he wasn't far off saying that we could get 4th if we had a couple of good signings after Maguire came in. (The back four pages of the 2019 thread are particularly dispiriting - genuine talk of a bottom half finish around October time.)

I've gone fifth. I actually think it could be anywhere between fourth and eighth, because I think we'll have serious fatigue issues post-Christmas due to the punishing schedule since lockdown was lifted. However, others will also have punishing schedules, so it'll come down in part to luck and how many moves Wolves/Leicster/Arsenal/Spurs make in the summer.
The real issue is that we had the opportunity to pull away from that pack this summer and get closer to Liverpool and City (and now probably Chelsea). But I have absolutely no doubt that we are wasting that chance and will firmly be mired among the second tier clubs.

Would have been right if Bruno didn't come in. At the moment, I'm saying 6th. Could change depending on transfer window so not going to vote yet.

Have updated the post noting your correct prediction from two years ago! The poll also lets you change your vote if something does come up before the end of the window. I'll try to remember to lock it the day after the window shuts.

6th at best w/o significant signings. Hopefully worse because we might as well be relegated at this rate for all it matters. No European football at all might kick enough of a stink for things to get properly violent.

8th for me - we'll be knackered by the end of the season with no extras brought in

Can’t imagine that was much fun. I’m gonna hold my fire until the window is shut like many of you, bc as things stand it ain’t gonna be pretty. Plus, polls don’t show up in the Tapatalk app so I can’t change my mind after we bring Ronnie home to join Sancho, Messi and the ghost of George Best.

6th. Out of CL at group stages. Dreading this season. Not confident with this TW at all. Are they waiting for the bargain bucket?

Without significant reinforcements? Anywhere between 4th and 8th. City, Liverpool, and Chelsea will be miles ahead of the rest. 4th-8th will be super close, probably 5 points between them.
We are done as a top football club.

As with many here I am going to give a final vote when the transfer window closes...as it stands we won't make top 4 and I think 6th or 7th is where we will end up...
With the right reinforcements then top 4 definitely and looking to challenge for a while at the sharp end...probably ending up 3rd again...

Bestie did you click first? I know you always said you couldn't not in past threads, but I thought time might have finally beaten that notion out of you.
