Manchester United have reportedly stolen a match on Barcelona and Manchester City in the race to sign Palmeiras forward Gabriel Veron. The 18-year-old has earned links with a move to a host of European heavyweights after scoring eight goals and setting up three more in 33 games for the Brazilian club. Palmeiras are thought to be prepared to cash in on the Brazil Under-17s international this month if a €20m (£17.63m) offer is tabled. Spanish outlet Sport suggests that United are now the favourites to complete a move for Veron, having worked hard behind the scenes to ensure that he chooses them over Barca and bitter rivals City. United, who beat Fulham 2-1 on Wednesday night to move back into top spot in the Premier League, are also said to be targeting a loan move for Inter Milan playmaker Christian Eriksen. The only thing Manchester United plc has stolen is 8 years worth of joy, time, expectations, money and hope from its fans.

Castles said yesterday that Inter have offered us Eriksen on loan for the rest of the season. Ole is keen but there is an issue with wages. Cor, he really hates Van de Beek doesn't he! Live look at VDB asking for more playing time

If we continue winning I don't give a shit about VdB's feelings tbh. Not sure why anyone cares as long as we are up there.

Bruno is out on his feet and the manager doesn't seem to have any plan to give him a break. We went out and signed one of the most coveted young midfielders in Europe, or probably world football, for not an insignificant sum of money last summer and apparently with a big assist from a club favourite. It cannot be a surprise that some people are questioning what the point of that was if the player is going be limited to 3 minute cameos and the odd low priority cup game.

It's not about his feelings, it's about Bruno being run into the ground when we have a very congested fixture pileup coming our way. Can you imagine what would happen to this club if Bruno got injured? He is 95% of our team's success right now.

Pogba will gone at the end of the best season & we've wasted £40 mill on a player, that could have done more than a capable job in the midfield. VDB's transfer value will be significantly reduced come the summer after a season of next to zero football. Another Glazer/Woodward/OGS masterstroke this one,why sign a player the manager never really wanted

Well, maybe there are things we are not aware of, just a thought. But of course, everyone knows better than the manager which has his team 1st in the table.

I forgot we aren't allowed to discuss the manager's decisions once he's won the top in January trophy. Come on mate.

He can also claim the 'divide & conquer' trophy, never known a United manager cause such division amongst the fan base.

Well shiiiiit, I'll go ahead and ask it then: are we there because of Ole or in spite of him? When you see the in-game management, what gives you any suggestion that he really has a grip on proceedings? If Bruno gets a knock, we are fucked. simple as. The plan B that was to have been VDB hasn't even been given the chance to get going, despite the need for same being more glaring by each passing matchday. So, despite my acknowledging our position and accepting that Ole being in charge deserves some credit, deep down I put more to the players' resolve than his management. And again, Bruno and his character has a lot to do with this. Our form pre and post his arrival is the most telling aspect imho.

Pretty accurate that,i'd also add that we are there due to the strange times this season is being played out in.

If Bruno gets a knock we are rightly fucked. Everyone knows it, no denying it. As would City be if KDB went down, Spurs with Kane, Leicester with Vardy and the vermin with Salah.
We’re not unique in this regard.
