To persist with the formation you need another matic type who will sit, wonder if TFM can do that role? Scott would be more the rotation with Fred as they both have an abundance of energy and prefer going box to box. Donny is intelligent enough to rotate with pogba or Bruno, mata also offers cover for Bruno. What this means for the wingers we bought, God knows I think we should start getting Scott used to that role. He has all the attributes, he only lacks experience there.

Would certainly save a bundle too as that type of player is worth their weight in Gold.

Mad to think that we just stuck in 5 and conceded zero against a team unbeaten and top of the German league. More like this one please.

Fred has been one of our most improved players over this last few months. No longer a figure of ridicule. He’s been one of our best and most important players for over a year.

Watched the game last night...well, that was a bit of a surprise...
Good performance and a great result, which may have flattered us slightly...
No doubt we deserved the win but 5-0!!
A few thoughts...
Pogba played well and actually looked to be working hard...not sure I have seen that this season or for a while longer actually...
AWB is one of the best one on one tacklers I have ever seen...simply awesome...but his passing leaves something to be desired and he still doesn't have the attacking threat I would like to see...I get nervous when he has the ball playing out of defence...he hit a pass to Fred last night that was too hard to control and RBL attacked from that...still work in progress...
Donny is a very skilful and aware player and a great addition to the squad...he needs to play more...
Lindelof and Maguire both make me nervous...neither are United quality...bring back Axel and let Mengi get some game time...
Mason is simply a deadly striker and will only get better...what a prospect...
Being able to bring on the likes of Bruno and Marcus is a rare gift and we certainly made the most of it last night...we immediately looked more threatening...
Ole deserves credit for this and the PSG game but in pretty much every domestic game we have looked shit...he needs to sort out why that is and fix it pronto...
I still want us to get another (better) manager...

We had plenty of wonderful results against quality opposition under the likes of Big Ron and Van Gaal. But Fergie made sure they were followed up in the league against the weaker sides. Atkinson’s teams would blow Liverpool away on a Sunday then lose meekly to Coventry mid-week. That’s the key. Follow this up by brushing Arsenal aside and maybe we can start to believe things are really progressing. Until that happens regularly it’s all false hope.

Liverpool did this kind of thing for years whilst winning nothing. Turned up one week, got embarrassed by some relegation fodder the next. You shouldn’t need to break the bank to get an acceptable level of consistency especially considering we do actually have a half decent squad despite a few weak points.

We beat Barca 3-0 in 1984 which was rightly hailed,as one of our finest European nights at OT. we followed that up with a 0-2 defeat to WBA,a classic example of the point Stew was making about Ron's United & the inconsistency that OGS would need to eradicate from his team before anyone should get carried away.
