As if you can make a comment crediting Ole for Fernandes being brilliant and 'needing help' then in the exact same post correctly state van der Beek should play more. Ole needs to help himself FFS. I've never said he doesnt need the help. I've openly stated this. But then I've also made it clear he deserves more credit than he gets aswell for certain things. Really hope that he wins something at this football club. I fucking pray he does.

Had to leave for work at half-time, so have just watched the James goal on the goals thread. Bag him as you may, but that was a thing of beauty from start to excellent finish!

1 point to qualify from a group where we were written off from the start. Overall a good performance but for a 20 minute period in the 2nd half where we almost let Istanbul back in it. Exactly. Imagine the fucking uproar and shit Ole would have gotten if we'd have lost most of them. Seems the criticism is selective to some. every Utd supporter wants ole to do well but most think he will only take us so far(I just can’t see us winning the league with ole as manager) don’t forget we still blow hot and cold most of the time and his in game management leaves a little to be desired. the question is would a manager that wasn’t an ex legend have been cut as much slack as ole.

Fair point, possibly not I dont know. I'm not sticking by him just because hes a club legend. I'm sticking by him because while he has plenty of faults, he's also proved to have done good work aswell. Also tired of laying blame on managers when its the same players throwing them under the bus aswell. Is he a manager that can only take us so far? Possibly. My main criticism is that in the times hes been at the club there hasn't been any sort of system out in place. The players need to answer for a lot aswell. A few seem to be getting a free ride. I get why people want him replaced I just don't feel it will solve anything until some of these players change their attitude. Our inconsistency is frustrating. Literally flipping a coin to see whether we perform or not.

Well who picks the team FFS? If Ole is so desperate for help he should start with himself.

Donny’s pass to Greenwood for the fourth goal was a thing of simple beauty. Perfectly weighted, those are much more difficult than they look.
Ajax and Sporting are the two clubs we should consistently buy from.

Ole does deserve some credit for last night but why has it taken him so long to put that team out, if he wants to survive then he must be starting that team more often than not.
Some of the slick passing from Donny, Bruno and Cavani was great to watch, quick first time passing and good movement, even Martial looked like he was enjoying it. This has to be the team moving forward. If Donny and Cavani are dropped again for the next game then Ole will only have himself to blame if it goes pear shaped. Quality players with the right application brings quality performances.

I totally agree that he's the only one that can help himself there. Its a no brainer he should be starting, he needs to see this. Hopefully now he is.

Ajax and Sporting are the two clubs we should consistently buy from. In particular Ajax as they have a clear vision of how they operate & a structure in place to facilitate it. I've just been reading the MEN ref the debate that BT Sport had about a DOF last night,Rio & Hargreaves saying it's a must etc & Scholes disagreeing. Think most of us on here have been crying out for a DOF for a long long time, however the point Scholes made is very valid, when you have a manager with no clear playing style that chops & changes almost on a game by game basis, that makes a DOF's job from a recruitment almost impossible.

The difference when you actually start with a proper striker. I think I’ve finally accepted that Rashford and Martial aren’t that. More support strikers or wingers. What was criminal was not replacing Lukaku.

Alex, Greenwood and Williams coming on, all great. James doing his "run fast be shite" routine for half an hour instead of giving some game time to Pellistri. Not great. Pellistri's not ready. Not saying you're wrong, but if he wasn't ready for a 25 minute cameo when we were 3 goals up, why was he on the bench?

This guy is sheer class: Bruno Fernandes: "Everyone wants a hat-trick but after the game in the Premier League [against West Brom] I told Rashy the next one he will take. He is one of the top scorers in the Champions League I think it will be important for him to keep going there." #mulive [bt] So, why isn't he captain yet? Hoping we use that as a barganing chip when a big club eventually comes in for him.
