Our central defenders cannot cope with the ball at their feet or in the air (defending our box or attacking in the opposition box). Pretty much every recent PL winner has had at least one standout CB who was at the core of their side winning the title. If we’re serious about challenging for trophies, we need a rock back there who would’ve taken charge of both situations that led to goals today.
As an aside; this is why Ole plays 2 holding MFs. Our CBs aren’t good enough without a shield in front of them. Fred and McTominay aren’t good enough to shield by themselves, so we need to play with two, leading to a back 6 who offer basically nothing going forward.
We need to upgrade the CBs or the DM (preferably both) to allow the manager some tactical flexibility. We won’t though.

34 goals in 64 games since the start of last season for Rash, and he's had a bad injury and Covid disruption during that time.
That is pretty impressive for someone who still isn't really a great finisher, tends to score spectacular goals rather than chalking up a lot of tap ins.
I find it pretty odd that he only comes in 22nd on Transfermarkt's most valuable players list, at 80M Euro. I highly doubt United would accept that for him, Sancho is 11th at 100M Euro, has he really out performed Rashford?
Either way, he really has blossomed into a top class player. Yes he can be infuriating at times as his finishing is erratic, but his all round game is top drawer, and as I mentioned a couple of weeks ago on here, even when he's having a real off day, there'll still be a moment in a match he does something special that's worth him being on the pitch, in contrast to Martial who is anonymous when he's off (this isn't a dig at Martial just pointing out the contrast between the two).

Well said. imo CB we actually have the option of playing Axel ahead of Lindelof , he handled PSG pretty well. That's on Ole to start him and I think he might from next few games. DM is the biggest priority ,it has been for a while since we saw Matic is on a downward hill. There must be someone in the ligue 1 or bundesliga who offer what we need.

Yep, much rather have Woodward and the Glazers make all the decisions by themselves.

Good win but Jones/Mike. >>>>>>>>>> maguire/Lindeolf If Smalling was partnering Evans we’d be top of the league. We are only going to be shopping in bargain basement if at all,so we really should be all over Evans in January,he'll be cheap,is better than what we have, made Maguire look better than he is at Leicester & most importantly has the DNA!!!

It’ll be very hard (by hard I mean expensive) for us to sign an exceptional, ready made CB because of the silly money we paid for Maguire. If we were willing to pay so much for him, imagine what a selling club would think they can ask for if they have an actual good CB?

3 points are always welcome but we've seen another example of why OGS will never win the league last night. When will this nonsense experiment end!

One thing I’ve noticed recently is that teams aren’t falling for Mason’s trick of cutting back on to his left foot and shooting. The blocker seems to be in the right position to nullify it. We will need to help him develop a new trick or piece of skill when he gets in those positions.

That was crazy money , but i do think the covid situation has somewhat reset the market because every club is struggling financially. As we see even Madrid and Barca are in pretty bad position and not willing to throw money around.

We will need to help him develop a new trick or piece of skill when he gets in those positions. He just needs to slam one into the top corner with his right foot. Only has to do it once; put the doubt into defenders' minds. Or we hire Robben to teach Mason his Jedi mind trickery.

He had a nice right foot shot in the second half so hopefully we’ll see more of it. It was a decent save too in fairness.
